I don't think I know anyone who is thrilled with it.
All the rules of interaction are different. There are many more options online, and theoretically broader horizons, but the mindset the players bring to the table is just not the same as in-person.
I'm not sure who it is that makes the rules, but maybe we should toss the Online-Dating Rulebook and elect someone new, next time around. 
It would help a lot of more folks would just be who they really are.
