| How bad is to yawn while talking to your girlfriend on the phone? Posted: 7/26/2009 5:04:54 PM | Ya, that's right. It was late one Thursday night just before Valentines Day and I called my sweetie to figure out what we where doing on the weekend. And I yawned! She was so upset she told me "maybe I should stay home all weekend and get some sleep" before saying goodbye and hanging up on me. I took her advise by the way. lol.
So the question is "is it so bad? " If given the chance I would have apologized ! Why would she be so offended? I work a lot of hours and I was tired. It's not like you can decide not to yawn.
Help me out here. Thanks

| How bad is to yawn while talking to your girlfriend on the phone? Posted: 7/26/2009 5:25:11 PM | I once had a guy fall asleep while we were on the phone. Except all I heard was this horrible dieing noise and then the phone went dead. I trully thought he had died. Anyhow, he eventually called me back and apologized but in all honestly I wasnt mad at all... I laughed about it. Yawning is nothing. | |

I also yawn when I get a draft or am near air conditioning too long.

| How bad is to yawn while talking to your girlfriend on the phone? Posted: 7/26/2009 6:06:12 PM | well, okay I'm prepared to be chewed out for this, lol.
First off, she's absolutely wrong for getting angry with you for yawning... I yawn a lot when I am on the phone, in person (I felt bad when I went on a first date and yawned, lol), it's normal. However, maybe something was bothering her and it was like a "last straw" type thing? Did you bother asking? You said you took her advice and stayed home all weekend and slept, does that mean that you didn't do anything for vday? Even though she was being a b****, I could see where that would upset her. Does she get easily angry with you? Blow things out of proportion? considering thiw was back in Feb, are you still with her? I hope things have changed since then.

I am thinking of sending her this link so she can see for herself what people think of the way she reacted. What got this all started is that she sent me an msn message that I didn’t get because I’m using (or trying to use) windows live. I had asked her if I could come see her and try to work out our problems. So she decided I could come and said so in the message that I didn’t get. :( Then a few days later she goes off accusing me of playing games and will not except the possibility that I didn’t get the message. She through in some more insults and digs too. Oh well.

When I send a message and don't get a reply, especially if it's a significant other, a text message or phone call is next. She can't expect the internet to always work perfectly. If she thinks you're boring, I wonder what she thinks of herself. She's bizarre, you're lucky to have gotten out of that. Move on, you deserve someone to care about you and not jump down your throat for normal body reactions.

If you think thats bad....I yawned and dozed off during sex one time when I was married. I had been driving all day coming back from a trip. I was gone for a week, and she wanted some when I got home......I was whipped from driving 14 hours....man, that didnt go over well.......at all.

| How bad is to yawn while talking to your girlfriend on the phone? Posted: 7/26/2009 9:52:06 PM | It somewhat depends on how you yawned and at what moment. If you were just talking about something important/sensitive and you did a big noisy exaggerated "yyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaWWWWWWWWWWWnnnnnnnnn", it could reasonably be seen as rude. If you just paused mid-sentence and yawned silently or near-silently and then apologised politely, she's acting crazy (but there's probably another reason).
Replying to this has got me yawning my head off. Nothing personal.

Posted: 7/26/2009 10:42:37 PM | | lol....for real...wow...I used to fall asleep while talking on the phone and it was even long distance...I was so freaked about how much the LD bill was going to look like...he never took offense...she over reacted....that's silly...but like rune said...if you were in the middle of a serious/sensitive conversation...I can see why she may have been sensitive...but if you apologized or commented about being tired from work then that's understandable.
