They'd be wrong. He was banging a 22 year old intern.

In April of this year, I and a group of Planned
Parenthood supporters from Memphis met with Sen. Paul Stanley in his
office. We told him about all the good Planned Parenthood does in
Memphis by providing basic gynecological health care and birth control
to teens and young people and also providing medically-accurate
sexuality education programs. I had hoped to convince him that there’s
a real need for our services, especially in Memphis, which has the
highest sexually transmitted infection rates in the nation and one of
the highest teenage pregnancy rates as well. Planned Parenthood
Greater Memphis Region tries to help young people and low income
people, almost all of whom are already sexually active protect
themselves from pregnancy and disease. Sen. Paul Stanley is my state
senator, and he made it clear at our meeting that he didn’t care about
my concerns about these issues that have a major impact in the Memphis
area and that he would not ever support Planned Parenthood.
He told us that he didn’t believe young people should have sex
before marriage anyway, that his faith and church are important to
him, and he wants to promote abstinence, blah, blah, blah. Now I
realize that when he said those things, he had already been sexing it
up with an intern and her boyfriend was trying to blackmail him with
dirty pictures. In retrospect, I think maybe Sen. Stanley meant that
he just doesn’t want young people to have sex with each other, thereby
saving the cute young things for himself. Hypocrite, anyone?

A. It's her fault
B. He's under a lot of stress
C. It wasn't intentional and his penis just sort of fell in there.
D. That his actions don't matter because he asked and received forgiveness from God.
And so on, and so on. It's also amazing to me how easily a "bright, educated" person in public office can have an affair and forgiveness is preached, but when it's one of the "dull normals" then it's horrendous and has to be stopped! | |

Back in the day Wilbur Mills a very powerful congressman from my home state "hired" an ex stripper/hooker to be part of his staff. Naturally during his next run for reelection his opponent made mention of the situation. When confronted by the press with the question at a bar-b-q/fund raiser all the 70 year old Wilbur said was that at his age he was flattered anyone would even think such a thing. He got 60 something percent of the vote.

Lets see we have a republican senator who opposes planned parenthood for religious reasons and at the same time is banging a 22 year old intern, now why would this be a big deal? True. I certainly won't argue with that. But democrats are just as hypocrital on other issues. Things like discrimination for instance.

Ok. At least he had more sense than Larry Craig, the Idaho senator famous for tapping his foot while in the bathroom at the Minneapolis airport. He got busted for soliciting homosexual sex in a public place. Last thing I heard was that he gave up contesting the arrest and the charges. So his initial plea of guilty will stand. 1. If someone tries to put forth a standard for high moral values, but slips and fails, therefore, both the following are true:
a. said high moral values are now invalid; and,
b. those who did not subscribe to high moral values in the first place should be given a free pass regarding their indecent proposals and indescretions.
Let me ask you, something, dear, when is the last time a Republican came up to you and told you who should, or shouldn't have sex with...?
Anyways, using your logic, I would be better off being a Democrat and not suggesting high moral standards to anyone so that if I happen to slip and screw a 22 yr old intern, I'll get a free pass (or at least more compassion) from someone like you?

I'm just asking because this guy went off on Clinton for having an affair - railed against him and voted for impeachment. But apparently, the fact that he talks the talk is enough. We shouldn't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain.
We all knew Clinton was a womanizer before he was elected. Remember Jennifer Flowers? He never held himself forward as a paragon of virtue; just the best man for the job. This guy ran as a paragon of virtue; ran on "family values"; attacked pre-marital sex. Then it turns out he didn't really believe any of it.
You know, it's okay to criticize a Republican. You don't need to defend every single one of them - many of them really are the scumbags they're made out to be. Tom Delay comes to mind. | |
