| Just wondering what I can do better.
Posted: 7/30/2009 11:41:03 AM | Want an honest answer to the usual question. What can I do to get a guy to notice my profile and be interested? I know I am overweight, middle aged and a tomboy so please do not go back on that cop out. Not all of us women can be Barbie Dolls. I would just like to be able to go out on a date with someone that will talk to me on a mature level and not want to jump in the sack or go get drunk. I am a country girl and have needed to learn how do things that a man would normally do just so I can get stuff done.
Let me know what you guys think. I have been around enough guys that I can dish as well as take. | |

I think its probably just that as you aren't the sterotypical 'barbie doll', you will only appeal to a niche market, if you know what I mean? I'm sure there is a guy for you but it will probably take a little longer. One thing I did wonder is if it might be better to put your second picture up as your main picture-the one of your face. Also head over to profile review. Yours isn't awful but the barbie doll comment makes it seem like you have low self esteem. Guys can see what you look like from your pics so there is no need to bring it up in words.

NOW for the O.p give it time and it will work out in the end .I know its easy for me to say ,But there are men who and do date ladys who are not a size 2 .and also know that real lady's have curves .

First off I am looking to see if there is at least one good man left in the world that is not hung up on looks and is willing to look for a real connection beyond the visual. I can be a very caring person but because I don't look like a Barbie doll I get passed over.

Well I would take this to profile review. Second you have some things that are shooting you in the foot right before the race so to speak.

while I am on a roll I am frankly sick to death of the barbie doll blame game. No one is a barbie doll... She is NOT anatomically correct. So when most of us hear this whine..We go oh boyhere goes another one.
As far as learning how to do stuff like a man. That baffles me since I hunt fish, etc. change a tire and an oil change. I am positive I am not doing it like a man I am doing like a woman that can take care of herself... To me this statment is a back handed bash.. So A guy can cook and so does that make him a woman...
If you were sitting in front of me in real life this would be my advice. Get to a place in your life where you can like yourself since if you can't like yourself then how can you expect someone else to. No I don't believe you do when you put yourself down and slam others. IMO. | |

You're not alone feeling like you're being passed over. My blindness and unusual track through life certainly puts me off the common path presuming there actually is one. Earlier today, I read a message from another young fellow who expresses the same sort of discouragement. He seems a good enough guy who has his ducks in a row but that just doesn't seem to count for as much as it ought to. Rather than trying to change ourselves or how we appear, I've come to believe that it's all about doing the best we can in life, keeping positive and open to others, and somehow finding the patience to wait for someone to take an interest in us. Every time I've been inches away from giving up the search altogether, God seems to delight in surprising me. Stay true to yourself and hang in there. | |
