Posted: 8/2/2009 3:38:40 AM | First of all, thank you so much to the staff at the Blue Lagoon, who once again showed us a warm welcome and contributed so much to the success of the meet. Special thanks must go to Bernie, the karaoke guy, for his assistance with the Birthday Greetings section, and for keeping the place rocking.
Thanks to all those who assisted me with the organisation.
Thank you to all who turned up in spite of the foul weather. It was wonderful to catch up with buddies from across the south of England, especially my forum adversary Maria, and my self-confessed forum stalker Lou, who brought along a couple of buddies from Portsmouth.

Well done to those who sang and made the event such a success. I was particularly impressed when Charlie (?) dedicated 'You'll Never Walk Alone' to the memory of dear old Sir Bobby Robson - so many of us on stage singing along, and it was a fittingly emotional end to a truly emotional day....
Thank you to the two felines who 'got me through' the middle part of the day with their kind words of encouragement, despite one of them being stuck up a ladder!
The meet clashed with another in the area (partly my fault) but I'm glad that so many people chose to support both events - well done to you all.
Well done, too, to Sheralyn for the pre-meet event just along the beach, especially as it had to be held 'indoors' at the last minute. The 'musical chairs with no music' was rather confusing, but I soon got the hang of it....
I was particularly impressed to see so many 'meet-virgins' at the Blue Lagoon. The first meet is always the most difficult (mine was a nightmare, frankly) but I hope that you were all inspired to do more in the future, and to travel further afield.
Is anyone missing half-a-bottle of vodka?
It was good to see so many of my buddies in one place - way too many to thank individually here, but you all know who you are!
Special 'Thanks' go to Tina, for putting up with me (or something like that) and for making the day pass so smoothly. It was wonderful to spend a little time with her, although annoying/disappointing to learn that she actually agrees with me that 'the body never lies'....xx
Extra-special 'Thanks' go to the person who was 'there' for me when I needed her, even though she wasn't actually there....x

We had a great time and only sorry that we had to leave before the end due to one of my friends feeling poorly.
WOW .. some of you guys can really sing! I didn't have my singing voice in tact sadly, but we're hoping (well planning actually) on attending the next meet so be warned if I get hold of the mic.
I will say to others out there .. if your prepared to travel a bit to these meets its definitely well worth it .. even though we were not local to this event we got talking to some great people and it was well worth the drive for such a great night!
We saw some great sights throughout the day, after spending most of it down in Brighton for the Pride Parade, and some rather interesting sights were also seen during the evening .. cheers for those Gary!!  | |

I had a similar problem on the night - my shirt and trousers clashed, so the trousers had to go.....hence:

Apparently, I had quite a 'tower' down there, because I was accused of giving someone an 'Eiffel', or something....
I'm not sure about the pix, tbh, because at least one of the cameras was waterlogged, and the ones I took on my phone were not of the karaoke - I'm sure that no-one is interested in seeing shots of one of the guests showing off her terrifyingly hefty bosom.

Met some nice people and I thought ZG did a good job and I am pleased we had the opportunity to meet and talk....not that I could understand a word he said x | |

Hopefully I will have my singing voice back for the next one ,Cough Cough  
Good to see Sheralyn have a good turn out to celebrate her birthday during the afternoon, and to see Rachel to celebrate hers as well

Sorry I don't have any photos as my camera gave up the ghost somewhere in the Pride crowd in the daytime... not sure if it was the sights it recorded... or the damp sea air!!
Glad to see that everyone had a great time, good to see some old familiar faces and well done to the people who decided to attend both local meets in one evening!
Thanks to Lorraine and friends for travelling down from London to surprise Sheralyn on her birthday, and I'm glad everyone enjoyed the various purchases from Pride.

Posted: 8/6/2009 12:09:26 AM | I'm sorry to learn that your camera didn't survive the shock of some of the sights it recorded at Pride earlier in the day, Tina - some of them were enough to raise an eyebrow or two.....Lord knows how some of those costumes will have fared in the downpour.
Thankfully, the weather didn't affect your gifts! They were most realistic in colour and shape, and almost too accurate with regard to their size.....
