Hey all you crazy POFers....
Here we go again. It has come to my attention that early October seems to be as good of a time as any to make central Alberta a focal point for POFer madness.
Let's celebrate the start of the Fall season (colourful trees, a refreshing nip in the morning air) by gathering once again at Cheers (north) in Red Deer! We're going to rock them harder than last time! And last time did in fact register strong on the rock-O-meter!
PARTY STARTS AT 8PM! FIRST BAND (COUNTRY) LIKELY TO START AROUND 9:00-9:30PM!

The plan is to make it a more balanced Red Deer event than previous ones. In the past there was just a DJ, and for the event we had last February, we had both a DJ and a band. THIS time around the plan - to make it more balanced - is to have a trifecta of bands. One country, one classic rock covers, and to round things out one will play mostly originals and a couple VERY recognizable covers. In between acts? Some DJ stuff.
All in all, great live music and some fun to be had.
$10 cover at the door.

Of course, when there ends up being 150+ people there, it gets a bit tough. But since I know a lot of the people already, it always helps when I can bring a new person in to a circle of people who are otherwise just hanging out with each other. It can appear to be a bit overwhelming when you see so many people at once. But we're a pretty friendly bunch. | |

Would LOVE it if you would set something up in Calgary that was more rock than country. We’re not country music fans AT ALL and it’s very difficult to find a venue here that plays the kind of music we like, and doesn’t cater to the “under 25” crowd. | |
