To answer your question concerning whether a pair of these boots would be appropriate in public, I suppose that would depend greatly on your definition of "tasteful."

thanks jeff, well, the fashion magazines, all have thigh high boots, gorgeous leather boots, made for wearing to just about any occassion.... and tasteful, that would be .... classy... with a nice outfit...not with a mini skirt and a thong, and not with a 5" platform /or spiked heel. and yes, this answer would be different for everyone, thats why I asked it...curious | |

If you define it because of what you see on porn or on a hooker, it limits your vision. If countless women wore them day-to-day on the streets...couple that with an open mind...
If worn as a fashion statement in a tasteful way, it passes. Depends what context you wear it in. Whether with hotpants, shorts or mini-skirt, the trick is to find balance eg..with a loose fitting, stylish, long sleeved top. Imo.
Thigh high boots look comical. I can't think of any other word to describe them.

But it's so near impossible to do, I can guarantee that almost everyone who attempts to will fail and will come off as slutty/attention grabbing. They are NOT footwear that can go with just anything you put on.
So realistically speaking, avoid wearing them outside the home/Halloween/the strip club, if you work there that is. | |

I own two pair of very gorgeous thigh high boots. Both look very smashing on me... I might even venture to say hot. Neither I would wear to any where public except to a goth/fetish bar/party.
Though, I guess depending on the boot... it could be seen as classy, however, I'd suggest sticking to knee high boots for public wear. That opinion is based off the reactions I have gotten from straight men. | |
