On a whim i bought a plane ticket to Nova Scotia. Now i am taking a 10 day vacation there. What are some really cool things to see while i am there? I like to get off the beaten path and see and do many things.

That could be because another thread started at the same time (same day?) re "What to do on weekends in Halifax"!

What parts of Nova Scotia are you planning to visit? Halifax is a nice city, with a sometimes stinky waterfront, but it's Buskerfest right now, so lots to see and lots of people around.

If you head to Cape Breton, the Cabot Trail is a must-see... though don't go if it's foggy!

I just got back from Cabot trail, no fog, but lots of traffic.

Construction all over the place so plan ahead for some extra time behind the wheel.

A visit to Mahone Bay would be a great stop. It is a beautiful old village. Peggy's Cove is a must see. I know the tourists flock there like crows on a loaf of bread, but it is so worth seeing. If you head to Peggy's Cove on the Prospect Road, there is a place off the main track, McGrath's Cove (& other small places), that is well worth the drive. There is a blacksmith's shop around there somewhere that does nice work. Plus it is interesting to watch things being pounded into shape. I have done the drive around the loop of Halifax to Yarmouth through the Valley (plus many other places) back to Halifax. Depending on your interests, there is alot to see. The hydro dam was really interesting.

Have a great trip.

I'm on my second week of vacation, and finally have my little apartment to myself! My goal for today is to find a good spot on the waterfront to read my book... write in my journal... people-watch... enjoy the beautiful weather!

You could stay in your hotel, get on the internet and receive a warm maritime welcome from the internet women of halifax...

Hold it, you already did that.

You could go to Cape Breton and soak yourself in rum...

Hold it, you already did that.

You could go meet women in Sydney, but if you do, there's a good chance nobody will ever hear from you again...

The best kept secretin nova scotia is the mouth of the La Have River, especially the La Have Bakery, the only one like it in NS. And a short ways away--the La Have Islands. Go out the causeway at Crescent Beach, poke around. Take a local kayak tour if you can. A beautiful quiet place--old world, very little of the new just yet.

I am kind of bored with Nova Scotia, I really want to get out of my comfort zone, and go somewhere else.... Maybe the United States..!

Need to get a passport though..!
