I seem to have a ton of browsers, and none have contacted, with exception of 2. When I say yes Im open to a cuppa java, they dissapear...leaves me wondering....I got annoyed last night and added the following line to the last half of my profile: "how does one say no jerks apply, and not come across as sounding like one themselves".... could really use Constructive Critique, not bashing....

Thanks for the look.

Your profile looked good to me bonnielass.
Straight, to the point and no b/s. Sometimes when you go fishing though you catch a lot of little ones that have to be thrown back before you catch the big one.
Patience and time, just keep baiting your hook, you'll catch one.

" "how does one say no jerks apply, and not come across as sounding like one themselves".... "

You don't. You have to filter them out via the interview. When you, unfortunately, couch your well done profile with stuff like this (see your first statement and your last), it's a turn off. And who is it that gets turned off? The good guys that don't need to hear that, who don't tolerate that, who see those things as a filter to say "nope, too bad, but the rest of the profile is good".

thankyou gentlemen for your kindly advice. I had added those two lines out of frustration yesterday, and have since removed them.

Perhaps something will come of this....I shall keep re-casting my line...

thanks again.

Removing the statements that tell everyone what you don't want, will bring on many more messages. Yes, some unwanted people will not be covered by the filter, but you will have to weed them out. This also keeps girls from feeling your going to be hard on them. Good Luck!

Bonnielass, I liked your profile a lot. I'm probably way to far away, and I'm certainly not the average guy. But I'm fairly sure that with the fine-tuning you've done and some adjusting of your filters, you should have no trouble attracting someone! You sound passionate and interesting and what can I say? I'm a sucker women on two wheels!

Good Luck!

Huh. Dump the "bad boy" sentence. It rates with "no game players." The guy you're looking for will read the first half of it and click "next", because he doesn't see himself as "bad". Remember, you're writing for someone rating himself against your profile, not a disinterested audience, and the guy who will pull back at the last second with a warm hug will want nothing to do with someone who wants a "bad boy"...he's probably been burned too many times.

It's possible that your paragraphs are WAY too long. I have a rather long attentions span and found myself skipping through your very wordy description. I can imagine a guy going to your profile, scrolling down and leaving, having been discouraged by a little "TMI". My advice - shorten it up! (Especially the "ABOUT YOU part - no one wants to have to slog through a lengthy paragraph to see if they "fit your description" before contacting you). Good luck!
