| For those of you with cats!! Posted: 8/6/2009 10:11:46 AM | So today i decided to shop at Lidls instead of my usual Morrisons...... i bought some cat-food pouches ( a brand i haven't heard of)....... i picked them because of the word 'premium' on them...... but on closer inspection they're only 8% meat!!!
Can those of you that buy cat pouches have a look at the percentage meat and post a reply, and the make you buy ie Felix or Tescos own or whatever thanks!!

| For those of you with cats!! Posted: 8/6/2009 10:26:39 AM | Seems like you have a bargain there! whiskas pouches are only 4% meat, same as Go Cat complete dried food. Thanks for pointing that out, think I will drop the daily pouch now and give her fresh chicken and fish every day instead of couple of times a week. The complete food should give her the balanced diet she needs. Lynx........it seems lidl is giving better quality than one of the best known brands. | |

| For those of you with cats!! Posted: 8/6/2009 10:43:03 AM | Hilife often has a very high percentage of meat but if your cats are anything like mine, that can be too rich...
Mine have a mix of Whiskas tins and that lovely dry food with the goo in the middle...
Some useless information.. Did you know feeding male dogs and cats on a diet consisting solely or predominantly of fresh chicken can cause sterility???

My felines would view one of those pouches as an h'ors doevre

| For those of you with cats!! Posted: 8/6/2009 10:51:28 AM | Just looked at my tins of Morissons own brand cat food and its 4% meat and 80% moisture!!!!!!! WTF? Moisture? Anyway my big tom cat is far happier chowing down on a fat pigeon. He especially likes to do it on the pavement in front of all the commuters on their way to the station in the morning.

| For those of you with cats!! Posted: 8/6/2009 10:56:38 AM | Hmm so panties pussie has whiskas?? The mind boggles! Lol
cats have to be fed carefully as there system is a bit unique, hence most suffer from kidney problems later on.
bet you didnt know they sweat through their feet.
EDIT, DO NOT GIVE A CAT TAP WATER! As they are allergic to the chemicals in it. The water has to be in the open air for 24hrs before the chemicals vanish.

| For those of you with cats!! Posted: 8/6/2009 11:05:01 AM | My cat won't touch whiskas/felix or any store brand. He has hilifewhich I have just check and is 60% fish, also dried food, fresh fish and chicken with the occasional piece of liver.
And I fed my ex husband cat food in a curry and he could not tell the difference, maybe why I have no children.

| For those of you with cats!! Posted: 8/6/2009 11:06:07 AM | | The best foods for cats is Hills or some other high quality dry food pellets that the vet sells. To a portion of that, I add several spoonfuls of tap water. Therefore my cats are getting high-quality nutrition, plus the moisutre that is lacking, even though they have fresh water daily. Wet food, unless it is wet food that the vet sells, is absolute rubbish and full of fillers etc. Not only that, but the litter trays stink to high heaven when a cat is fed wet tinned supermarket food, no matter how expensive or how huge the television advertising budget. Large bags of dry food that a vet sells and recommends is not false economy and even works out cheaper than tinned. | |

| For those of you with cats!! Posted: 8/6/2009 11:18:41 AM | And has your pusspuss ate it ??? just out of interest like !!

| For those of you with cats!! Posted: 8/6/2009 11:50:11 AM | | I tend to get the crates of tinned food from tesco the pouches are rubbish ,you only get about half a tin per pouch and its horribly expensive its cheaper to buy a cheap chicken than that stuff | |
|
| For those of you with cats!! Posted: 8/6/2009 11:57:38 AM | | I only buy the dry food for my cat and considering she's already 20 lbs (average for a Himalayan) I really don't need to be giving her any of the pouch foods. | |

| For those of you with cats!! Posted: 8/6/2009 12:02:44 PM | | my **** has iams and he fills out his own diet with the odd bird and mouse.....he has a nice shiny coat and a wet nose, he is de flea and wormed on a regular basis too | |
|
| For those of you with cats!! Posted: 8/6/2009 12:17:37 PM | no moggie or pets in my life.....but there is a pu$$y in my life that gets fed 100% prime organic sausage.
words such as premium, gourmet, prime, supreme etc have no legality in the world of food labeling...the only thing you can hold em against is if they say a certain percentage on front...ie 100% fish....but the tin contains 50% veg, 25% hedgehog.
ever found yourself licking your lips at pet food ads...as that prime, juicy meat in a rich, thick tasty gravy is slowly eased out of the tin.....then i go look at my meaty stodge and think.....summat not quite right somewhere
