Ok so what kind of event would you guys like to see and how often?

It can be anything from weekly, monthly or even seasonally, just put some ideas out there so we can discuss it.

I'd love to see a monthly Dooley's night. Or lol my geeky self would love to have a Renaissance or Masked Ball for like Christmas or Valentines.

So come on guys and gals suggest away, let's spice up Freddy and get fishin as well..

a montly pool night sounds great, or bowling, i miss the parties we used to have but at the same time can understand how the same person doing all the planning would get tiring after a while, a friend and i were just discussing this the other night how some of us should step up and plan something. if some good suggestions come from this thread i would be willing to offer some assistance so long as the event was planned around a time that i am able to obtain child care.

Oh please do step up & take the reins for a while. I'd love a bowling night, or a pool night or something that would get us up and out and moving! It might be nice to have a coffee night one week then bowling or pool or darts or whatever the next week.. I like the idea of every week there's something to do. That way no one feels like they have to go every time but they will want to because of the fun.

It's great to get together and have a dance party, or go to a bar to loosen up, but some of us can't do that too often. It gets expensive, I don't drink alcohol, but I do dance & love it. Having an activity such as bowling would give us singles a better chance to talk than we have in a noisy bar. I think(in my opinion) that's the idea isn't it?

i hear you there brainy, my fall is going to be juggled between job searching, 2 kids, and i think i've finally decided to take the giant leap and enroll in some of the correspondence courses i've been looking at. I've been at home raising kids for the past few years but now that they are both school aged its time for me to get back out there. I also dont want to put too much all on one plate so to speak, but if time allows some functions to attend amongst adults on a somewhat regular basis would be great, and if even more time than simply enough time to attend is available i would be willing to participate in the planning and orginization it would require to pull some of these things off.

It's actually very easy to set up for a regular bowling night at Kingswood. My singles' group bowl there on Sun. evenings in the winter, they just rent one or two lanes and the participants who show up split the cost of 2 games for the group. It works out to about $5.00 each and you can be there for a few hours of fun and easy conversation in an atmosphere which allows you to hear each other, meet with no pressure, and relax and have a little fun.

Brainy, you have suggested a good thing here with this thread. I think the parties are all fine & dandy, but something different for a change might be good too.

A few friends and I are planning on going to do the TreeGo near Mactaquac this coming saturday.

I am not certain as to what time we will be going there just yet as nothing is confirmed, nor have we made reservations.

But if any of you folk who are looking for something to do, may I suggest you check it out.

To find the website on the web, just google TreegoMactaquac.

That treego sounds like it requires one to be in pretty good shape, I think I"d have a hard time with asthema and all. Wouldn't you need to be a lightweight just to get up in thosse trees?

However, if physical activity is a possibility, why not go hiking as a group. I know we have many great trails and semi-mountains here in NB, for the ones who enjoy that type of stuff. A group called The Outdoor Enthusiasts of F'ton are active and know where we could go for a day trip, see lots of interesting countryside. I'm sure the one's I am aquainted with would give us some ideas of where to go.

Maybe camping is your thing to do? Still lots of good weather left for that as well. Come on POFers, make a few suggestions and let's get something happening here.

You do not have to be in anything better than average to participate in a Tree-G experience.

It is more mental than physical.

There is some climbing, but if you can climb a ladder then you are fit enough to go.

If you enjoy pushing your mental limits all while getting outside and having fun with like minded others than Tree-Go is a great place to check out.

all this tree going business set aside for a minute, even though it does sound like a fun event.... I think the original post about needing more events planned in freddy is an excellent idea.... furthermore if we were to start having weekly events take place, it would be an excellent idea for the events to be hosted on the south side one week, north side the next, alternating as the weeks go by. this way those who have limited transportation could participate in the events on their side of town, and we would have enough variety to choose from that people could pick and choose which events they want to go to and not feel left out if they missed one.

Well, don't tell me no one in F'ton has imagination! Come on peeps, there must be something we can think of to do together, as a group, besides sitting in a bar and NOT hearing what the folks are saying?

Let's plan a swimming party at Kilarney, surely all you beautiful people aren't afraid to be seen in a sunsuit/bathing suit/ shorts & Tshirt? We had a good thing going for a while but everybody got tired of the same old thing, I still think bowling would be a fun thing to do.

Well BrainyGeek, I know you tried to get something going here, it seems that a great big foot squashed it on 2 threads! Maybe this crowd doesn't want to do anything new. I don't understand it though, we were a fun group, what happened? With Winter coming I, for one, would like to have a few events to look forward to. If bowling or pool isn't interesting to very many of you all, why not suggest something else.

I'd just like to go on record suggesting that we do at least ONE event where we stay sober, for a change. Is that so odd or strange?

the serious do seem to be few and far between on here latley. it seems the drama obsessed former regulars must have gotten their fill and moved on and the few regulars who are left are mostly home bodies. Shame really i thought the idea of some regular events happening again was a fun idea.
