I understand that PEI is hosting the Canada Games this year. The games are starting this weekend and will run until the end of August. Anyone participating, attending or volunteering? (I'm under a 200 word posting minimum to start a new thread, hence the cut n paste job below) Welcome to the official website of the 2009 Canada Games, a national multi-sport and cultural event being held August 15-29, 2009 in the Province of Prince Edward Island, Canada. I've been involved a bit the past week .. volunteering, spreading the news about events on now and upcoming .. One noteworthy event is the Fire Festival - it's on for another 2 nights (tonight and tomorrow) VERY worth attending - I can honestly say my experience there last night was the BEST time I've had here in years! It's worth it!! ((thanks Thatguy .. )) Also there is a TON of Great info at: tourismsummerside.com a Great Up to date site - check it out! :) I wish we could post pics of the scenary .. cuz I've got some Great shots of Summerside and a few other spots on the Island .. for now - Go to that Fire Festival (Shipyard Market) ..

Hey How is everyone in my favourite province? The Yukon hosted the Canada Winter Games in 2007. Just four days after the end of the games the price of a parking ticket went up from $ 10.00 to $ 25.00 Two months later every home owner was informed that the city property taxes and utilities were being increased too. Just hoping you guys don't have the same thing happen to you.
