Frog Or Prince ?

I've noticed quite a few profiles state 'fed up of kissing frogs' or similar phrases , surely once you've kissed one 'frog' you wouldn't continue kissing them if they didn't appeal to you ??

Who are these 'frogs' and what do you think is the difference between a 'frog' and a 'prince' ?

a frog has a very long tongue and always offers its use for a variety of tasks usually over msn

a prince turns up and has no such tongue & keeps his hands to himself the entire evening

I always think that the term refers to the fact that people don't always turn out to be as good as they first appeared.

They start off quite well, leading to a little bit of intimacy (the 'kiss') , but soon after, the 'red flags' start appearing........

the difference between a 'frog' and a 'prince' ?

The 'prince' won't be married, will be solvent, will have a car, will treat you wonderfully, won't look at another woman, will allow you to be yourself, etc.....

i think it means lots of things.

Girls dont seem to realise that kissing frogs wont make any difference, they seem to think that they can change a bloke by being with him, or that he will change for her.
Most blokes dont, they stay the same or get worse becuase they get comfortable in the relationship.

She thought he wasnt so good, but that she could change him into something else and it didnt work out because he stayed the same.

Its said by imperfect girls looking for perfect men mostly.

Or people who still believe in the fairy tale bull that has been fed to young girls and grown women still believe it....I don't think its women necessarily trying to change the man - she just hopes that magically her prince will come along boring - just by wishing in some walt disney way.

There are good and bad in many men and women, its just finding the person who does it for you and not putting silly phrases on profiles that perpetuate the myths...(I'm a little grump tonight)

A frog is a slimy creature that shows his true colours straight away
A Prince is a TOAD, plays the long con, but ends up just being distant cousin to the frog...

A man is what I am looking for, Just a 'normal' run of the mill guy!... But alas I be kissing a lot more frogs I assume to only end up with yet another a toad! *hey-ho*

I have to say I haven't come across too many frogs, let alone kiss one .. I always seem to end up licking the toads which do nothing for me apart from leaving a bitter taste in my mouth ....

... or am I thinking of something totally different there I wonder ... hmmmmm

That'll be a gay man then.

swerve any responsibility for it going tits up.

I think in this instance, a frog is someone who might not be so pleasing to the eye, or be overly confident in a sweep you off you feet charming kind of way - someone who doesn't immediately strike you as being a massive catch, but someone whose better qualities are less superficial and ones you get to know over time.

A prince is someone whose better qualities are more instantly recogniseable, but more superficial and less important in the long run.

To kiss a frog is to take a chance on getting to know someone you might not immediately want to spend the rest of your days with, but can overlook the superficial lackings in search of more important things.

Given those definitions, I don't think it's so ridiculous, after all, many of those fairytales have some moral story in them as well as happy ever afters!

Edit; My description of 'prince' was meant to be someone who first appears to be a prince...the more I waffle the less sense I make sometimes! :D

Zedhead,

its well known that some of us women have co-ordination problems... I don't think its fair to pick on us just because we take a few wrong turns before we find where we're heading! :P

Am surprised that no-one has related to the fairy tale where the prince is turned into a frog by a witch. The only thing that will release the prince from the spell is if someone loves him warts and all and kisses him to release him from the spell, which the witch obviously never thinks will happen.

Maybe people kiss 'frogs' in the hope of finding the real person underneath, they can see past looks and view the real person. Sadly too many frogs were frogs in the first place so will never turn out to be the 'prince'.

In real life, the frog does not have to have warts and the prince does not have to be um.... princely - It's just people hoping that the least likely people my have hidden charms and taking the chance and it seems, invariably being dissapointed.

I kissed one of those poisonous frogs in South America. I had some of my best hallucinations that night. I highly recommend kissing and licking frogs/ toads. Obviously I have never kissed a man.

I have nothing to say on the matter other than frogs are best served liquidised and dished up as pea soup to your un-suspecting dinner guest....until the very last slurp! After all, frogs deserve frogs! Apparently, frogs legs are quite tasty, but I wouldn't like to feel responsible for all those poor little froggies on crutches.

It's a fruitless search...

I'm sure all the Frog Princes were despatched during the Napoleonic years?
