LOL I think a part of it that plays into the drive is the quality of sex. Mediocre sex, your drive is going to go down... awesome sex, and it goes up. That's my theory anyway.... whether it's true or not, I don't know but I'll choose to believe it.  | |

My kid is almost grown, my guy is in the same spot. When we are together, there are no kids around, fewer worries- we are free to indulge ourselves. That coupled with a degree of comfort in our own bodies gives a freedom we may not have experienced before. I'm not saying its one thing or the other but I do think there may be more to it than just maturity? | |

Na, it is ascientific fact that a woman is in her sexual peak at 26-30. You must remember these things a are studied. I believe women start feeling old and try to compensate.
Sounds like one of us old ladies shot you down chief! And I see you want a younger woman...they must not what you either! You're a 35 yr old male who, from the looks of it, AIN'T a doctor...you don't know jack.
OP, it varies from woman to woman. There is no hard and fast rule--it's how YOU feel that counts. I'm 45 and my libido ratcheted up 1 MILLION notches around 42. Am I more free? No...I have no kids and am still of childbearing age. It's hormones. But my flip side is that I'm contending with the possibility of early menopause (joy).
Enjoy yourself--sensibly obviously--but realize that if it DOES chaneg, you're not having issues--your body will only be/do things for so long.
(AFL mumbles 26-30...aren't some of those girls the ones on girls gone wild videos, kissing other women to screw with guys like him?) | |

Ah, another of the male persuasion whose empirical evidence is contrary to the above posted assertions by those who are the subject of this query. farceur, is it possible that we knewthe same woman?
Anyway, perhaps in my second life I'll meet up with one of those women whose libido hasn't withered and died. Just hope my heart can handle it.

Posted: 8/26/2009 7:32:57 AM | OP, while I am not a doctor and don't play one on TV (I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express one night tho) I can say that research has shown that women begin to reach their sexual peak near 40 and above. I for one appreciate that fact since I am now in my 50's with all my equipment still in working order and ready to go....now, if I could just find one of these ladies to enjoy the time with, the latter part of life would indeed be grand.

I don't doubt many women feel a reduction in sexual desire when they age but based on what my friends told me its more a factor of no longer being attracted to their sloth-like, selfish, unkempt husbands than plummeting hormones. | |

Even women well into their 50's have a significant high sex drive. God really does think he as a sense of humor in having men peak in their late teen's and women in their 40's. | |
