| questions regarding frostwire, downloading true blood? Posted: 9/4/2009 12:13:44 PM | i have a 3 part question.
i signed up last month 8/9/09 thru mbdetails.com at 2.49 a month to get true blood but they took 29,88 (whole year out of my acct?
when i tried to go on the site using the computer in the college library, i couldn't do any downloads. now, i just bought a 10 inch mini toshiba from tigerdirect.com for 349.00 (1.99 shipping) but there's so many downloads (frostwire, vizue) and the instructions are confusing, so , i uninstall the frostwire and brothers (something). but, now my start page is not google and i cannot get it to go back? i checked in my start up under programs and the frostwire is gone. so why is the frostwire is showing on my startpage?
i called the mbdetails to have them cancel my subscription and refund my money. how can i find a site to watch true blood without alot of downloads and confusion. i need to be able to watch on my 10 inch mini and when i'm at the college library.
also, i haven't made a recovery/back up disc yet because i haven't bought a portable harddrive.
thanks | |

likewise...frostwire is a bittorrent p2p client.
what exactly did you sign up for?
i hate to tell you this....finding a site to watch a movie on legally is going to be tough. there's netflix for most stuff...that doesn't require a download and runs in the browser...
anything involving frostwire is likely to be illegal. I'm not sure what you paid for...it sounds like you paid a fee to some unscrupulious service that doesn't actually cover any of the licensing fees....in fact, i'm willing to bet that just because the site you wanted to download it from charged you money...any potential downloads (and for the most part, the site you gave money for), are illegal.
as far as your start page, if you're using IE, go to Tools and Internet Options.
sadly, since your 10inch mini likely lacks a dvd-rom drive...there would be no legal way for you to watch the movie on it without finding a LEGIT site offering streaming video or the DVD of the movie you happen to purcahse has a "digital copy" feature. sadly, it's illegal to purchase the DVD and copy it to your hard drive for later viewing.
but...generally...anything involving downloading a movie is illegal

What I have been doing, is buying external slim enclosures, and putting my own laptop DVDROM drives in them- the DVDROMs are pulled from upgraded laptops, that now have Combo or DVDRW drives in them.

frostwire is free and a poor choice of p2p client
prefer utorrent, google for it :)
get yourself a decent AV
www.eset.com - nod32 - 30 day trial malwarebytes.org - free trojan remover
never understood why people fall for paying for p2p when it is freely available, albeit with the risk of the copyright owner tracing you

Posted: 9/6/2009 1:43:46 PM | That website has been known for scamming, just look at all the rip-off reports and scam/fraud reports you get from search results on google when you enter that website. If they don't give you your money back, I suggest filing a charge back with the issuing bank of your credit card.
(I suggest a moderator mask it to prevent people from going to it, if possible)
To remove their homepage setup, (assuming you're using Internet Explorer) is go into Internet Options from the Control Panel and then it will be right there, in the Home Page section.
Otherwise, from within Internet Explorer, you can go to Tools > Internet Options and do the same thing.
If it changes back you might have to get a spyware removal utility such as Malwarebytes or Spybot Search & Destory (both of which are free).
More than likely, changing it in the internet options section will work for you.
