I find it happens all the time, you message someone for a while, exchange mobile numbers, a few nice texts back and forth, sometimes a few nice phone calls, then the we should meet up bit and then the cruncher.................
Where does it say on my profile that I am into inviting total strangers to my home? What are these morons on? I usually ignore but sometimes suggest that they may be on the wrong site and if all they want is sex there are plenty of sites on the web just for that.
I suppose they at least offer to bring the wine!!  lol | |

I have never had it happen... I guess it is pretty well known for the get go no meet and greets or first dates at my home or theirs.

I got a novel idea why not put a disclaimer in your profile that states just this
"I am not into meeting at my home for the first time".
I usually ignore but sometimes suggest that they may be on the wrong site and if all they want is sex there are plenty of sites on the web just for that.
Now how in the world do you get they just want sex from you if they are meeting at your home. I do believe you are in my dating age realm, way back when it was the norm to pick us up at our homes. bring a small gift etc. Times have changed maybe the men you are talking to just haven't caught on.
If you are interested in this type of men, and this is all you are attracting then I think the problem lies with you and your communication skills. I also don't think all the men are morons.
I think it would be much easier to put it up front when the first meeting is being discussed something like this.
I really like you and all, I would feel more comfortable to meeting in a public place, I hope this is okay with you. Then take the bull by the horns and meet them there. Actually shockk them a bit by offering to pay for the drinks..

Well you can always play along. Give him the wrong address - like to the local mental institution - tell him you'll see him at 7PM sharp and then promptly delete/block his number.
If you're truly interested in him tell him you're not comfortable yet having him at your house....then see if asks you out for something else. If not - default to what I've written above.

I don't know. It was just one huge paragraph or run on sentence. I caught a couple of words, but then just looked at some of your pictures to see if you did anything exciting.
I don't do very well with walls of text.
Maybe that's what they did too.

The internet, and the notion that women may want romance. And there are a lot of wine snobs around.

There you go, see? They may be really considerate people. They are totally willing to get you drunk before taking advantage of you. Well, at least one bottle of wine drunk.
Maybe you could just write them back and say "Make it a case, and drop it off at the public park on 35th and Bougainville avenue (or wherever), I'll be watching, then we'll talk." | |

I've met quite a few women off various sites over the years, and a couple have suggested that I come pick them up at their place. I HAS happened to me... not only once... and NOT only here on POF...
It seems that the first couple of questions when you meet a guy these days are:
1.- Who do you live with? And if you say by yourself...
2.- Why don't we go to your house/Can I come over one of these days?/Why don't you invite me for dinner? etc. etc. etc...
What is it with SOME men nowadays? I don't want you guys to spend your life savings taking me out... a stroll on the beach would be AWESOME... I don't drink so that's also out of the question...but COME TO MY HOUSE so I can COOK YOU DINNER?
And don't you guys come here and tell this lady or myself that if we DO invite you to our house you ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT TRY SOMETHING!!!!
I am old enough to know better...but young enough to want to experience being with a GENTLEMAN again...soon!!!  | |
