| Springfield, IL needs a POF Event!
Posted: 9/6/2009 10:19:42 AM | So - what do you say? The one the used to happen bi-weekly doesn't go one anymore. I heard the story from that establishment. I think the POF social events were great. If there seems to be a decent number of people interested in bringing back the tradition, I find a bar or 2 and start hosting!

Thought about a pool hall and I could draw names of people to form 2-person teams and play each other. Pool and drinks could be conversation starters. Same thing with a Dart-play night. And then again at a karaoke night some where and a 4th meet up could be just a bar to hang out at or one with a DJ. Still working on it. I will let you all know. Submit your ideas! | |

OK..this is my SECOND time trying this. (1st one was last Wednesday 9/30/2009).
Practice makes perfect ya know! So...As promised in my other post, here is another POF event.
DATE: Wednesday, 10/7/2009
TIME: -5:30pm -9:00pm
BUT---5:30pm - 7:30... FREE FOOD!
(Pizzas and sloppy Joe's and other items. Not sure what else at this point)
Kinda of an after-work-Happy-Hour-stay-if-you-are-having-fun type of event..LOL

I will wear the same shirt that is now deemed my "POF HOST Shirt.. LOL
It has the NEON Letters "POF" on the pocket adn shoulder sleeve. LOL
ADDED BONUS1:
If you introduce yourself to me with and tell me your POF screen name,
your first drink is on my tab!
ADDED BONUS2:
If you bring your favorite music on a CD, Break Time says they will play it on their sound system for you and all to hear.
ADDED BONUS3:
Drink specials like $1.75 beers and many more.
So there's free food, Drink specials, your first drink on me with introduction, and play your own CD's.
There are games, Dart boards, pool tables and of course, the bar.....

Posted: 10/7/2009 2:56:45 PM | I think that there needs to be more weekend events. A lot of them that are on Wednesdays are a bit harder to attend in the middle of the work week. If we could have something on the weekend, that would be great. How about someone hosting something the weekend before Halloween?? I know everyone (especially for all of you who are single parents on here) will have a tough time on the official Halloween weekend, so the weekend before would be a great time to have an event. We could have a costume contest, or make it some kind of masked event. It would be great if something could be hosted somewhere like Catch 22, The Bar Oasis, Rockin Robin's, etc....Just somewhere to have a fun get together. Anyone agree with me, let's get something going for Halloween and start planning now :)

I will look around to see if a place can offer a good deal like having free food or something. That is a good added bonus other than just naming some place to meet up. A couple years ago, POF had a costume party at the Field house in Springfield, IL that I heard was pretty successful. I'll be checking into the Weekend thing! Thanks for the idea! | |
