Nicest thing on a first date? Asked me after dinner if I minded if we could drive around for awhile. Dinner had gone well and so I said sure. The drive turned into 3 hours of driving around town, chatting about anything and everything. I was in heaven, she was gorgeous, we obviously hit it off, couldn't wait to see each other again.

He then took me to lunch at the casino and we played around on the one armed bandits for a while and then he asked me if I wanted to go to a rock concert that night. Which we did. It was a really fun day! | |

Woke up the next day where she had made fresh bread and had a coffee waiting. I should have proposed there and then. D'oh!  | |

I told her that I had to be in Miami for an assignment but would be back that Friday. She called her brother, found out flight/time and met me there with a limo and took me out to eat. | |

He came out with a glass of good wine in one hand and a dozen of roses, both for me. We then went to a great dinner and dancing till we closed the place. Great date but the ones following weren't, He was jealous and possessive, not good! | |

Well it depends how comfortable you felt with him from his messages and phone calls but yeah we all know first dates should be in public cos you just never know. Mind you, you can have a great couple of dates and then have dinner at his place and it still could end up bad. Dating is a leap of faith most of the time. | |

Posted: 11/25/2005 2:03:33 PM | showed up with a rose for me....2 days later was valentines and i was sick and couldn't go anywhere....so he came to my door with 2 dozen long stem roses, and made me a killer dinner...veal parmesan, rappini, etc..crepes for desert....mmmm....

When I got there he said.. hmmm let me get something from my trunk.....
He had a blanket.....
a and a little cooler...
I had brought us both waters....
He had cheese and crackers and had brought some wine...
We were just meeting for LUNCH.... LOL we talked for hours and hours......
He pulled out a little present for me... and gave me some glassblown fish. It was really sweet.
Neither of us wanted the date to end so we ended up turning our lunch date into a happy hour then dinner date! | |

We ended up taking her car. After spending a week together, we were happy to say goodbye when we returned home, the day before New Years Eve. So, I get online with this other chick and when she asks me what I'm doing for New Year's Eve, I tell her my car is still in the shop, I'm out of money and stuck at home. This was only like our second online convo. I give her my number, she calls and I give her directions. Next night her and her sister pick me up, take me out partying all night, then we lose the sister and go back to her place. Happy New Year!!! | |

Posted: 6/24/2008 8:21:58 PM | It's a bit of a toss-up, as I've had the good fortune to date some really sweet guys.
For a first meeting, he took me to a fancy chocolate dessert buffet (it was actually something I suggested, but mentioned it as being too much for a first meeting, but something I wanted to do in general. He insisted that he wanted to take me there), and showed up all dressed up with a huge bouquet of flowers. Basically was a perfect gentleman the whole night, complimenting me, and was even interesting to talk to.
Another man cooked an elaborate dinner for me (we knew each other through school and mutual friends, and talked about cooking at a party, so I already knew he was safe).
Both of them got second dates with me, and I dated each for a while. | |

You say this in a jesting manner, as if it were some temporary entertainment, not that I have any objection to temporary entertainment.
But, I will say that ALL of my LTRs started in this manner, and NOT in regard to anything temporary. The longest such relationship was a marriage that lasted nearly 25 years. She passed away in 2006. We missed our 25th anniversary by 8 days. | |
