Other than that, I'm quite happy to be home alone right now...I've been nursing a sick kid all day...so this time on my own is quite welcome!

| Are you lonesome tonight? Posted: 7/9/2005 4:43:05 AM | i miss real people, real tv, rush hour traffic, happy hours, crowded malls, the long ass line at the bank, the horrible waitress, the late mailman.... i spend my nights in my room cleaning my weapon, wondering what shit i'm gonna be in the next day, hoping my humvee dont break down, and wake up to smell of a burning city, sometimes the sound of mortars, hearing the haji's playing they're prayer music over the city, and then i get ready for anything. am i lonesome? yeah. and what do i miss? i miss my country and everone who's in it..

| Are you lonesome tonight? Posted: 7/9/2005 10:25:27 AM | Dear fox...
now, now - don't feel like a twit! We all go through periods of feeling what we are feeling - loneliness, anger, hurt - whatever.
What has helped me over the years, is to put what I am feeling in perspective - and to remember, there is ALWAYS someone far worse off than I am. Just turn on the news channel and you'll see what I mean. It doesn't necessarily make me feel 'better' - but it does help me to realize how much worse things could be, and somehow that is a help.
Kodiac - there are many of us that support you in mind and spirit - post more whenever you want to...

| Are you lonesome tonight? Posted: 7/9/2005 10:55:35 AM | I would much rather be single and lonely, then with someone and lonely... that really sucks!! I'm content living alone, if I get bored I go to the Eagles club and see my friends, EZ enough.... | |

| Are you lonesome tonight? Posted: 7/9/2005 10:56:18 AM | No. I gave up lonesome a long time ago. I’ve got so many things to keep myself occupied. And while I agree with the sentiment expressed by the above folks, especially Doc, the clock moves forward and the situation changes. This I’m glad for.
Kodiak, keep up the great work. You are in our thoughts and prayers. You’re doing one heII of a great job. I, and millions like me, appreciate what you and your troop are doing.

| Are you lonesome tonight? Posted: 7/10/2005 12:09:43 AM | I don't think it's loneliness I feel sometimes, it's more of a yearning. I'm blessed with amazing family and friends and a cuddly little weiner dog - so lonely I am not. But do I miss the excitement of the phone ringing when it's someone "special" on the other line? Do I long for the warmth of another's hand clasped tightly in mine? Do I dream that in the morning when I wake someone will be lying next to me? Do I wish I had a wonderful man to buy gifts for 'just because'? You bet I do. Especially feel it on Sundays for some reason. And now it's 12:10am on Saturday night, bleagh! | |
