Posted: 9/20/2009 9:02:29 AM | Hello everyone, my name is Ken, and I have noticed that there are a LOT of riders on this site in my area. So.....I decided to check the interest for forming a POF riders club. It wont matter what kind of bike you have, cruiser, touring, sport etc. It will not necessarily be a "singles" event trying to match bikers with bikers, but if it happens, well hey. Just a group of people going on rides together, maybe pull up at some POF dances on bikes and so forth. We would have monthly meetings and rides.
I would be happy to coordinate the first meeting, find a place for it, and see if I can even find a bike shop to allow us to meet before rides etc. Male and female, little bikes and big bikes, harleys and metrics, it is just for a good time. If you are interested, please respond to this post, and I will start getting things going.
We would make some good friends, have some good rides, and enjoy cent Florida's weather. I think it could be a good time!!!

Posted: 9/20/2009 9:37:00 AM | Just a short amendment. You do not HAVE to own a motorcycle to join us. If you have a car\truck and want to join us for meetings and rides, that is FINE. Back seat riders are also welcome. If you are dating you are welcome. The only requirement is that you be a member of this site, or show up with someone that is. This is to make good friends, and have good times with people we have something in common with! (single, motorcycles, day trips, just getting out)

True confession here...I am almost 50 and have never ridden on a motorcycle. *hangs head in shame*
Not because I'm afraid of them, just never been at the right place at the right time, I guess.
It is on my "bucket" list, though.

I am sooo short 5'3 that IA have a minor problem trying to ride flat footed on that thing. My boots are plenty tall enough but then you get off and I feel like I am towering forward and that's before I even have abeer. So I guess I could get it lowered? Anyway, count me in I would love to ride. Polk county has some beautiful places and I ride by myself alot. Just let us know. Scuby | |

Fun is what it is all about! Yes I KNOW you can get your Shadow lowered, and it sounds like a good idea. I haven't ridden much in Polk county; mainly Sumter, Citrus, Hernando, Lake, a little in both Pasco and Hilsborough.
Rather than having to look at everyone's profile to determine where they are, I think a survey or poll or whatever it is called on POF is in order.
Ken, are you listening? How about a survey or poll to determine where everyone lives and then a starting point that is closer to the majority would be a good thing. I live in Brandon, but from what I have seen, a lot of people that post here live in Lakeland. To me it would just make sense to start from a place that is convenient to the majority of riders. | |
