Greetings!!

I just went on a trip to New Zealand in August. For those of you who don't know. It is their winter going into spring.

I have to tell you it was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been!

I only travelled the south island but if anyone is considering a trip there I would completely recommend it!

I have never seen such beautiful lakes in my life.

The people are so kind and I was very impressed with the way the preserve their environment.

If you are considering going there, DO IT!

I agree, I was there years ago, had relatives to stay with, and I only saw the north island, but loved it! I was also there in November, late spring, so only had one really bad rain storm. I found some things were quite expensive because they import so many things, but discovered local made arts and crafts were a terrific value.

I've never felt so at home anywhere else. You are right, the people were wonderful and the most beautiful landscape. I would live there in an instant!

I totally agree with you! I was there this March and April in North island studying, and travelled most of the north island every weekend. it is one of the most beautiful country to visit. I didnt have enough time to visit South Island that time, but definitely will go back to NZ again to do some travelling down the south island.

the most thing impressed me is, I saw so many stars in the sky at night, that I dont really find them here in asia. even i lived in Canada before, but still cannot compare with NZ. its truely amazing place to visit!

Spent 2 months hitch-hiking around both islands in 1977 and as others have said here, the people are what make this country the beauty that it is. People would pick us up and ask where we were going and we say that we were going to the youth hostel and they would say why not come to our place and we'll show you around our city, town. They would feed us dinner, take us for a tour, put us up for the night, feed us breakfast, pack us a lunch and drop us off wherever we wanted. Incredible people and an absolutely georgeous country to visit.

Was there for 4 weeks in 2006. What a fab place. Travelled all over North and South Islands. Hoping to go again in April 2010. The landscape is so diverse and I think it is similar to Chile. The place to go if you are an outdoor person.

You are all correct in saying New Zealand is fabulous. I lived there for 10 years. When I landed there the first time in 1979, I couldn't believe my eyes. The people are friendly, the food fantastic, and the scenery is out of this world. I can't wait to go back, maybe for another 10 years.
