seeking true happiness?

Supposedly, you have reached the pinnacle of your life - accomplishments and goals that you set out to do... and you are stable with your career, happy with relationships but there still some part of you feel there's something else is missing. You can't figured out what it is.. you did some soul searching... but still can't find that answer. Ei: could be a spiritual calling, relationship, career, etc...

A friend of mine is searching for her own answer which I can't helped her with.

seeking true happiness?

I'm not sure if there is a question here, but I have a comment...

Whenever this has happened to me, one of the following was true:
a) I actually KNEW what was wrong (bad relationship, sucky job, etc.) but I simply did not want to admit it was a problem at the time due to fear/uncertainty. Just because a job pays well and you don't hate it doesn't mean that you LIKE it... just because someone is a good person doesn't mean that you are happy, etc.
b) I was just bored and didn't have enough on my plate. Sometimes it is just a question of thinking too much...

You are right that you can't really help your friend, IMO. She has to figure it out for herself.

Best of luck to her!

sometimes people look for answers that are interesting or amazing when in fact the answer can be simple. They might have gotten into a routine lifestyle and now are finding that they are missing the 'interesting' things or are not learning anything new.

ask them to try out a new social club or to take up a new hobby and see if it makes a difference.

many people get into this kind of thinking, especially if your friend happens to be in the age group of 30-39. it's completely normal. ask them to try out volunteering or take a course in school in the evenings for fun.
