| what right do they have?!? Posted: 9/25/2009 9:06:05 AM | | what gives people the right to call another person ugly??!!....i can understand that you are not interested in getting to know them but do you have to show your ignorance as well!simply say thanks but no thanks and that should do it but it must make them feel superior to call them ugly, skanky whatever.....the point is when you go home and sleep at night you can feel relieved that you insulted someone and not give a damn on how they feel....bravo!! | |

| what right do they have?!? Posted: 9/25/2009 9:11:11 AM | | Is a "thanks but no thanks", honestly going to make you feel the slightest bit better than a "you're ugly"? I mean, really... who are we kidding here, they both equate to the same meaning. Personally, rather than take either of those approaches, if I do feel inclined to say something to the person in response to their interest... then I'll just pick something about their profile that I feel would be a point of incompatibility anyway and I'll go that route with it. There isn't any point in either directly or indirectly either one, making someone feel insecure about their appearance. | |
|
| what right do they have?!? Posted: 9/25/2009 10:23:43 AM | | The same right as they have to say you're attractive. It just doesn't sit as well to hear it. | |
|
| what right do they have?!? Posted: 9/25/2009 10:34:28 AM | | This is why I always live by the motto......"A compliment is nothing more than an insult turned inside out...." ......what they say to my face will be a different story once my back is turned..... | |
|
| what right do they have?!? Posted: 9/25/2009 10:36:29 AM | mean while back at the ranch............................................................?

Unfortunately people do have the right to be judgemental.
just as you have the right to complain about it until some one deletes this post....
hopefully soon. | |

What gives people the right to call another person ugly? The United States Constitution, First Amendment. The greatest document ever written. Im pretty sure when James Madison got together with Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and the rest of the group, im pretty sure calling someone Ugly not was the framework for the first amendment
Imagine the conversation
James Madison : Hey Tommy ( Thomas Jefferson) your mother is Ugly and wears Army Boots Thomas Jefferson: You shall die for your insolence towards my family John Adams: Gentleman we are Americans lets act like Americans we are not subject of his majesty , I have suggested we have the right to free speech and call any one Ugly as we see fit
On topic, I dont know why some people feel its necessary to call people ugly?? I guess to make themselves and their miserable existence of a life a bit better in their loser eyes.

| what right do they have?!? Posted: 9/25/2009 1:34:03 PM | | werewolf, morally people don't have the right to called someone else ugly, but technically they can call whoever they want it's their right, I say to hell with people who feel they can call someone else names, if you know you are not ugly don't worry about what they call you. | |
|
| what right do they have?!? Posted: 9/25/2009 2:04:26 PM | First off, unfortunately it is going to happen, if you plaster your picture out there for all to see you incur the possibility of someone insulting your appearance, it goes with the territory. Most of the people when not interested will try to either pick out something in the profile they dont like, not answer or say they have found someone, there will be some that will be insulting. If you dont have thick skin online dating sites may be a bad idea.
Secondly, freedom of speech does not allow anybody to say anything they want. Courtrooms are filled with defamation lawsuits ...slander for the spoken word and liable for the written word. The constitution gives citizens the right to criticize the government without fear of prosecution.

Imagine the conversation .. etc., etc. Lmao
OP: don't even entertain another thought about someone who is so insensitive. Their mother did a poor job raising them.. The End!

James Madison : Hey Tommy ( Thomas Jefferson) your mother is Ugly and wears Army Boots Thomas Jefferson: You shall die for your insolence towards my family Uh huh...stop the story right there. Dueling was still the accepted form of settling questions of honor back then. One of these two wouldn't have been around to sign the paper.
Wow...did this thread get hijacked or what? ;)

| what right do they have?!? Posted: 9/25/2009 7:27:25 PM | Umm because they can? Obviously lots of precious feelings get hurt everyday, whether its online, offline, in real life etc. I mean seriously, if you are gonna get your bvd's all up in a wad everytime some sorry slapnut judges you or calls you ugly, then you may as well lock your bedroom door and go cower in the corner for eternity.
Or of course you can always grow a set and just roll with the punches, hell maybe even fight fire with fire.

ROFL!!!
No, but seriously, calling somebody ugly is not slander or libel. If you tried to sue somebody for that, unless the judge had nothing better to do they would probably laugh your case out of court. You have to prove that they caused actual harm to you in the workplace, caused extreme emotional distress or illness diagnosed by a doctor, or seriously damaged your reputation.
If somebody calls you ugly, then they're rude. They are also stupid because they can't think of anything better to say. You have the right to tell them both of those things.
|
| what right do they have?!? Posted: 9/25/2009 7:39:37 PM | I have been called ugly many times,,, Who cares?? they are projecting their own insecurities, do not make a big deal ,,,

| what right do they have?!? Posted: 9/26/2009 3:05:18 PM | In at least a dozen countries, including N. Korea, China, Cuba, and certain African countries, calling the President of the country ugly would land you in jail and possibly make you disappear permanently.
Thank God and our forefathers we have the right to insult each other.
|
| what right do they have?!? Posted: 9/26/2009 3:30:32 PM | Its same as saying who has a right to be racist or homophobic dude

| what right do they have?!? Posted: 11/19/2009 11:30:03 PM | | personally I am always flattered when someone shows interest in me regardless of how they look. It's a compliment. Someone who calls you ugly when you simply send a message telling them you are interested isn't someone you want to meet anyway. | |
|
| what right do they have?!? Posted: 11/20/2009 11:42:41 AM | | Maybe people should have a little more respect for themselves. Don't place so much importance on other people.... because you're whining about something that will never change. It's nature.... attractive = good, ugly = bad. Attractiveness is indicative of genetic superiority. Don't bite my head off. I get called fugly all the time. | |
|
| what right do they have?!? Posted: 11/21/2009 12:30:20 AM | | i think they do it mostly so they can feel better about themselves.........sadly theres a lot of people like that.............personally......i dont give a rats patootie.........i know i'm fat and ugly.................least i know their eyes work | |

but then don't you guys have a paper that say you can carry guns...and my mama always told me you never call a little guy with a big gun ugly
|
| what right do they have?!? Posted: 11/21/2009 10:05:42 AM | The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects a right to keep and bear arms.
These are the freedoms our forefathers thought most important:
1. Freedom of speech 2. Right to bear arms
The King of England could no longer tell them what they could and couldn't talk about or send soldiers into their homes.
Anyone can legally call anyone ugly. Anyone who isn't a felon can own a gun.

| what right do they have?!? Posted: 11/21/2009 10:20:22 AM | FLIP IT How much more unattractive did they become, when they called you ugly, and you got the first glance into their nature.... | |
|
| what right do they have?!? Posted: 11/21/2009 11:03:04 AM | some people need to insult others to feel good about themselves. Its rude, its pathetic, its childish, but it happens
You shouldnt care about what anyone else thinks about you. You should just love yourself, and not give a rats ass about what anyone else thinks.
