Posted: 9/27/2009 2:36:24 PM | I have had a few psychic readings throughout my lifetime that have been eerily accurate.
The woman who used to read my cards occasionally has since passed on.
I see all sorts of online readings by phone stuff around. I am not sure that I am really that much of a believer. I am wondering what kind of experiences some of you have had with readings and if anybody can recommend a reasonably priced reader that has some respect from you the consumer. It seems in my experience a lot of the readers are a lil quirky and read from home and its word of mouth only that get you in....

Posted: 9/27/2009 3:58:25 PM | Its amazing what the power of suggestion can do. One's eagerness for the psychics' words to be accurate can lead to a very charitable interpretation of their often vague or applies-to-almost-everybody readings.
However, when I was a kid I once had a dream about my new crabby neighbor (scowled at us all the time when we played in the back yard) and I heard her name in the dream which turned out to be her real name. I figured I just heard it before and forgot about it until I heard it again in the dream though. | |

Which is how really good psychics make the money, they have a set of meanings for each tarot card (or other means they use) the reader has to take what they know of and can glean from their customer to pick the right definition of the card. | |

I have known people who have been into them and every now and then I know what card they are going to pull out before they pull it out. I would call it mental energy synchronicity rather than saying it is about the cards. Who knows? | |

Posted: 9/27/2009 6:24:24 PM | Some of you will probably remember this from when I posted it on another thread last year. I don't see psychics anymore but used to tag along occasionally with a g/f who got readings regularly.
Fall of 1982, I met a guy & we mutually decided we would just remain friends as we both had recent break-ups & weren't ready for another relationship yet but we ended up seeing each other every day that he wasn't out of town working. Shortly after I met him, I went with my g/f to her appt with a palm reader who apparently also had psychic gifts. When my g/f was done, she insisted I get my palm read too.
The reader mentioned this new guy friend of mine & started telling me some bizarre stuff about him & his family. (None of my friends had met him & I hadn't told my g/f much about him other than I was sort of seeing someone.) The reader told me his sister worked with money (I hadn't met her but knew she was a bank teller) & that my friend, his two brothers & his dad all had careers around airplanes. (He & his two brothers worked for three different airlines & his dad built aircraft engines.) She told me about health problems his family suffered (which he later confirmed was true). Most of what she said I hadn't told anyone about so it was bang on creepy accurate. She was right on a lot of stuff she said about my family & I as well but I was still holding onto my skepticism.
I laughed when she said she saw me & my new friend in a relationship for at least 15 yrs, possibly longer. Yeah right ... she was definitely hokey 'cause that was so NOT going to happen. On my next date with him, he told me he was falling in love with me & proposed. I laughed, figured he was kidding ... I mean we had only known each other for three weeks. But nope, this man was down on one knee holding my hand & proposed three times before I realized he was serious & wasn't going to take no for an answer. In a moment of insanity I accepted & we got married seven weeks later. The palm reader said we'd be married at least 15 yrs or longer ... well, we had been married 15 yrs & 4 mths when we separated.
The reader also told me that I would have difficulty getting pregnant (I had to see a fertility specialist), she said I would have problems with my first pregnancy (I miscarried the baby), but not to worry because I would have two healthy children before I was 30 ... & I did. Ok, I was sold that she was legit & began hunting her down to tell her she was right on the money with everything she had told me.
Years later, I ran into a regressionist/past life expert reading tarot cards at a fair & decided to go for it 'cause I had heard of her before & was told she was good. I was iffy about what she was saying about my past lives (no proof) until she asked me if one of my two sons had a birthmark on his back. I said 'yes'. She said that in his past life he was stabbed in the back & killed while on horseback with some type of spear that had something sharp on the end that was shaped like the letter 'F'. Bizarre! My eldest son was born with a distinct birthmark on his back that looked like a backwards letter 'F'.
What do I think about readers? I think most are phony baloney but I do believe there are some who are legitimate & whom I refer to as 'modern-day prophets'. | |

Intuition is another word for psychic … being able to read body language, facial expressions, the eyes, and the flick of a finger and the movement of a muscle. Voice tone, all this stuff is included. Everyone has them because they are natural to all Humans… some are born with some type of psychic ability enhanced. Some have practiced and developed their particular skill more than others.
I cannot do psychic readings, but I do have some psychic abilities. I became aware of them in the 80s when I passed through “the dark night of the soul” or Dante’s Hell … I had 4 evil hearted very psychic people around into the Black Arts. I do thank my enemies who accustomed me to fight and awakened my to my own abilities.
After that and to this day I have meet lots of good-hearted psychic people and when I did a couple of psychic fairs in Montreal, I knew 20% of the psychics working the fair. I got a lot of readings. In the end I would not expect to have a real accurate reading from 95% or higher. This is not to knock any of them in any way shape or form. They are really nice and good hearted helpful well-intentioned people for the most part … they are learning and trying to improve their skill levels and I enjoyed it anyways and I do get some aspects well worth considering. Not everyone is an all-star player.
There is no such thing as prediction, because we do have free will and things change from the time of the reading. Our aura can change every few hours. The best prophets know this very well and when they tell of some cataclysm, they hope the warning will change the time line. So they are happy if it doesn’t come true.
Accurate readings of the future … “seem??” … in part, to occur more accurately when a soul or two souls have agreed to work through some karma … these events have been agreed upon, so they can be read accurately.
In the Old Testament is a story about a peoples called legitees?? (Name is close only and spelt wrong) God warned then of all kinds of cataclysmic events coming to befall them. What they all did was look very deeply into their own hearts, saw the evil of their ways. They changed their ways and averted the nasty prophecy.
I know some really good and very advanced psychics today and they don’t do readings as per say. Only what is needed to help someone in trouble, to heal people and change the outcome of events to positives. I chatted with one recently in a paranormal chat room and he is one of 7 to 10 who the police actually use. He uncovers and finds the bodies of unsolved murder cases that are 5 to 7 years old. He also works as a director and consultant on a few of the paranormal movies documentaries and TV series.
Another factor comes into play … I have been in a few psychic fairs with a computerized astrological reading system. I can’t sell anything. I would tell potential customers my truth about it. They would thank me for the interesting information and buy nothing. Lol. There was a fellow in the booth that knew nothing about astrology. I don’t even think he knew all the signs. He would get up and tell potential customers a pack of total crap and disinformation. Nine out of 10 it seemed would hand over the money. I still don’t totally believe what I was watching. Hahahaha. The only conclusion I can come to is that most people going to these fairs want to be lied to and are willing to pay for them. People have said to me; “I only want to know the good stuff.”
There are very accurate readings to be had … I know from experience and so do others as mentioned in this thread.
Today … I figure the majority of people have intuitive and psychic abilities. It appears each generation being born is more psychic that the previous ones. They don’t say much if anything at all. Some don’t recognize the ability and or, are not awakened to the ability. Others never try to develop them and take them for granted. Psychic abilities are skills and need to be developed by practicing. Like learning how to walk, ride a bike and every skill there is.
Do a google for military and remote viewing
From personal experience, involvement with psychic people and research what is going on … Leads me to feel strongly that as we move down the timeline on this planet, humans will become much more psychic. Groups will gather to actually change things in our psychical world … a loose example would be powering down hurricanes and the like. I know for sure the main ingredient is a Heart filled with Love even without so-called psychic abilities. Love is the Master Key as far as I can see.
There is no one upmanship in this. No ego involvement … We are all one; we are all equal, with unique perspectives, skills and abilities.

This guy is one big phony, predicting kill shots from solar flares, etc, etc. Said he could find Osama Bin Ladin for the U.S. for free. Dames is another hustler preying on those who refuse to use the grey matter they were born with. Uri Geller and Sylvia Brown same phonies as Dames.
Magician James Randy offers 1 million cash to anyone who can prove they have psychic abilities or powers under controlled scientific conditions.

We offered the basic personality chart, sexual personality chart, numerology chart & a compatibility chart which overlapped two peoples' birth charts then analyzed their compatibility. I didn't do the daily horoscope program because predictions can cause people to change their actions based on what they've read, which to me might make them do or not do something that was meant to be.
I never claimed to be an astrologer & never answered anyone's personal questions. We told everyone that anything in the charts was directly from the computer astrology program & not our personal input.
But unlike you, our booth was always bustling. We would take orders & have people p/u their charts 30 minutes later 'cause it took time to look up latitudes & longitudes for their birthplace in our Atlas then input the info into the computer. I found that when people were able to get their charts right away, they were more inclined to order them. When we got too busy & the wait was over an hour long, we'd offer to mail it to them for no extra charge but they were less likely to order then.
I don't know if you were just taking orders or actually printing out the charts right at the fair ... that could have been why you didn't do as well with it as I did ... or perhaps you were giving out what they wanted to hear verbally so they felt they didn't need to order the charts??? Some of the people who got their charts at the fair did contact us later to get charts done up for their friends & family members. | |

Posted: 10/2/2009 7:12:59 PM | While I was learning Astrology I wrote tons of programs on the Apple II+ When I went to the fair I had developed all the software and wrote all the text on the PC and could do charts and print them out right on the spot.
At that time in 93 I was in a relationship with Penny and my youngest two children. All four of us to this day are great friends. One day the 4 of us with a few friends changed the message on the answering machine to all of us laughing.
It is law in Quebec to have the text in French. We divided it all up and handed it out to be translated. I changed the software to choose between French and English. When we got the text back it was a disaster. A few planets were quite poorly translated, several others were really bad and made no sense at all and two planets were missing. Hahaha. I just fagged off the missing.
We weren’t getting many people coming to the booth and I noticed quite a few looking and getting a discussed look on their faces as they walked by.
On the last day on the psychics came up to our booth early that morning. He sort of paced a bit first, not knowing whether to say something or not. He then said; ”Do you know what that sign says?” pointing to the big sign above the booth say Astrologer in French. I said in a not so sure anymore tone; “Astrologer”
He passed a bit and said; “ It means garbage or human waist.” … Well I just split a gut laughing … It was one of the best cosmic joke I have ever experienced ... way too funny … The truth was right up front center in plain sight. We took down the sign and all went really well after that :) … like your experience sweetandfuuny
A few weeks later we realized that we had never changed the answering machine message. The French customers who phoned in got laughed at.
