| Please help – dreaded profile review :)
Posted: 9/30/2009 1:11:18 AM | Ok, it’s like getting the midterms back. The profile is not working. What should I change? Is there a big turn-off here? Is it the pictures, is it the text?
Question for the ladies: what could I add or remove from the profile that will make it more attractive for you? How does one make connections from a sterile web profile?

Only suggestion would be to change the main pic to one a little closer up. I can barely see what you look like sitting on the couch from far away. Check mine out. We are a similar age. Glad you stopped by….
You have a LOT going for you, but your profile isn’t one of them. It’s cardboard and cookie-cutter and my guess is that you’re neither.
A few suggestions…
1) Turn your generalities into SPECIFICS….specifics work, generalities (easy going, optimist, like to laugh, play, open mind, fun, friendship) are all TRUE, but very old and very boring and very stale.
2) 20,000 other guys in your state are saying the same thing….so it becomes meaningless.
3) What kind of specifics??….For example…ladies like employed guys….what do you do? Do you like it?
4) More specifics: What do you do for fun in Aliso Viejo….take the Amtrak into LA and go to the Ahmanson Theater? Drive up to Laguna for the Sawdust Festival? Go on the Art Walk on Thursday? Make her see and feel the experience.
5) Your photos are good esp because ladies like to see how and where you live.
6) ADD 1 or 2 CLOSE up. Ladies like to see up close and personal.
7) Nix “sharing days and nights”…too much too soon. 1st ya gotta get the date.
8) Rethink the name and headline….DreamerLover is too sappy and effeminate for most women. At first I thought it was a woman’s profile.
9) The headline….too much oxymoron. Mischievous ladies don’t see themselves as angels and vice versa. You’ve successfully eliminated all women.
Hope some of those help.
Summary: be specific, lighten things up, aim for the DATE first. That will attract the right lady, and the relationship follows. Best to you. DenverSky5280  | |

Posted: 11/2/2009 3:12:28 AM | I find that it is seldom that I can follow DenverSky with any real comments of value.
She did mention getting close-up photos but did not mention that your primary should be close-up. That one is the main thing that draws ladies in to see what else you have to offer (make that one really good)!! Look at the smile on her main photo, it invites you in to see what she has to say.
I personally like “Mischievous angel” and have known a few, but she may be right. Try changing that and see what happens.
