Posted: 10/2/2009 7:11:39 PM | Ever had a guilty pleasure? Stuff you wouldn't admit to your mom or your friends, just anonymous dudes on dating sites?
Mine;. I was walking to work (downtown Calgary) while streaming The Bounce 91.7 on an iPhone. And I realized I was singing along..out loud to "Miley Cyrus - Rocking in the USA". I stopped on 5th street..horrified..and quickly turned to look around to see if anyone heard me.
Lucky..cause that would be like MORE embarrassing than realizing someone was right behind me after I farted. Now I check for both. | |

Only 3 people in the entire theatre including me and we laughed our a$$es off and no one had to share popcorn! Fabulous. | |

I also like to light candles, turn the lights off and watch the dumbest of the dumbest movies. A couple of weeks ago it was Mars Attacks with a bottle of wine... 
There are other things... I just refuse to admit to them on a public forum. | |

It was removed but it's returned. And who doesn't love that forum. Nothing passes the time talking about the merits of body painting each other..then having sex on a white cotton sheet covered in paint..letting it dry and hanging it as a memoir!!!!.
One other guilty pleasure
- loud thumping R&B, Dance or Latin music in my car. What sounds better than when AMP radio drops Madcon - Beggin?
- I sometimes watch dancing shows on TV. I've given serious thoughts to actually learning how to dance too..especially that ballroom shit & latin.
- I love drinking alone, but it's more fun drinking alone at a pub watching everyone go buy while pretending to read FFWD magazine.

OMG I want to try that! I can't believe I missed that thread. What a relief to know the forums are up again.
Learning to latin dance would be awesome. And AE watching the dancing shows reminds me of another guilty pleasure, American Idol. Not the beginning with the losers who cannot sing but who think they are another Madonna because their mommies told them so, but later on when some gems are discovered. I don't like all the judging crap but sometimes a singer will come on that will just blow me away. | |

ABBA rocks. You know what I love about ABBA? Music aside (Fernando rocks) they managed to subtly market their sexual fetish stuff and not have the moralists come down on their ass. I mean, for starters, they're a perfect example of wife swapping swingers. And..check out the lyrics on stuff like "Does Your Mother Know". Benny...a 30 something dude singing about having a fling with a teenage chick. The only other pop singer I ever saw get away with that was Clay Aiken on the song Invisible when he sang "If I was invisible, Then I could just watch you in your room, If I was invincible, I'd make you mine tonight" Hell, if Clay had a profile on POF you chicks would call him a stalker !

I jump and scream in suspense/horror movies.
I cry often when watching movies like the aforementioned "Old Yeller", "The Green Mile" and other powerful movies.
I hide this behind a long haired classic heavy metal t-shirt wearing pickup driving tough guy facade but those who know me openly mock me for it all. | |

Me too..and ghosts FREAK me out. Before I moved to Edmonton, I lived in an apartment which had a ghost. It used to move doors. I'd set the door in a specific spot on Friday, go to Edmonton and Monday night it sometimes had moved. This always happened in the bedroom so for the entire time I lived there I never once slept in the bedroom. I just put my stuff in the living room (bed).
I also worked part time at a 4 star hotel in Calgary. A woman had died a "suspicious" death in one of the rooms. Sometimes we'd get 911 calls from that room when it was not occupied. It freaked me out. The manager would laugh at me because I'd have no trouble tossing thugs that threatened me with death into the streets but I'd get a evening house cleaner to come with me if I had to go in the room. Man, that room felt angry and evil. | |

A & W onion rings! Talk about guilt! and pleasure - yum!
They're good but they are so messy, especially in the car. They also have more salt in them than the Atlantic Ocean. If you want some great onion rings, Burger Inn on 4th and 18th Ave in Mission has them. DEE LISH US. | |

Posted: 10/5/2009 4:41:22 AM | I hafta agree about the A & W onion rings. A good decade ago or better, they were "to die for". Like so much nowadays though, they've become a victim of the cheaping out trend in todays business world. They used to be a nice big juicy ring of onion with a yummy coating of juice from the onion moistened, seasoned batter. Nowadays an order often contains mostly brown strings that were once shavings of them super-pricey veggies, and shrapnel. (heck, even I can cook that well)
OT: No guilt here.
