| Nicest or favorite vacation place in the US Posted: 10/6/2009 1:42:20 PM | | I see topics for favorite vacation spot. The best cruises. Nicest place you have ever been. Most romantic place to go. And etc. It seems a lot of the answers and topics are centered on vacation spots out of the country. I understand why and I too have been to some nice places overseas. BUT......What about the states? Where are some of the nicest places that you have vacationed here in the US of A? | |

| Nicest or favorite vacation place in the US Posted: 10/8/2009 9:17:34 PM | I happen to like Las Vegas as their is so much do, other then to spend one' s time in a casino. The food is great and just walking is fun.
I also live in Long Beach, Washington and I happen to think this is one of the best places for a vacation as I visited here for a weekend, fell in love with the place and knew I had to drop anchor here.

| Nicest or favorite vacation place in the US Posted: 10/10/2009 6:14:35 PM | | Well I'm from kentucky. I don't mind it. I have been lots of places in the U.S. I have cousins who live in Portland, OR. I have flown out there a couple times. We explored the state and it is beautiful. Very diverse landscape. Beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers, valleys, hills. Great fishing and swimming (in the summer). Good beaches. It is my favorite place to vacation at. | |

| Nicest or favorite vacation place in the US Posted: 10/11/2009 5:21:18 PM | No question for me, it's Key West.
I've been three times this year, and will be heading back in November. Never stay more than three days, but always have a great time.
If I could afford to live there, I would.

| Nicest or favorite vacation place in the US Posted: 10/12/2009 12:20:35 PM | Dillon, CO. Right smack in the middle of Keystone, Breckenrige, and Vail. Already planning a trip for spring skiing this year.
P.S. Give me Keystone over Vail any day of the week.

| Nicest or favorite vacation place in the US Posted: 10/15/2009 8:47:37 PM | San Diego, CA.
Went there as part of my honeymoon many years ago and loved it so much---we went back home, made our arrangements, sold all of our stuff, and moved back there for 2 years! And I have been to many, many places in this country (not to mention around the globe) yet none inspired me to up and move there for the sheer beauty! Plus 70 degree median year round temperatures---puh-leeze!!!

| Nicest or favorite vacation place in the US Posted: 10/16/2009 10:55:26 PM | | Been around the world, but to very few spots in the USA, just made it to New York last year and fell in love with it within 10 minutes of leaving the hotel. I was there for 10 days and didn't have time to do everything that I had planned. Can hardly wait till my visit. | |

Olympia rain forest along the coast of washington. Lake Tahoe I love the winter skiing at Heavenly, Mt. Rose and all the hiking and mtn bike trails, I can't get enough of coopertown. Living here in san diego has some pretty nice places...

I love seeing ocean and nature when driving over the highway rather than factories and smog. I love ging to the beach whenever i darn feel like it. Too many drunks and tourists though.

| Nicest or favorite vacation place in the US Posted: 10/30/2009 12:01:11 AM | I love visiting National Parks! My favorite vacation spot of all time is Death Valley, CA. The weather is a perfect 70 degrees in Feb. and there is nothing like hearing absolute silence while watching the sun rise over the sand dunes in Stovepipe Wells! Once you've experienced that kind of quiet, you'll be amazed at how loud our world really is. If you head out there in March/April you will be able to see the wild flowers bloom. So beautiful to see the desert covered in flower beauty :)
If nature just isn't your thing, then I would recommend San Francisco. So much to do in such a small area. I loved not having a car and getting around with their fabulous public transportation.
Another great spot I would recommend is Alaska. I got to experience the city of Anchorage, did a glacier tour, and also drove up to Fairbanks. So beautiful. Of course I had to stop at Denali National Park. Everyone should experience some part of Alaska before they die.

I'd have to say the San Francisco area, Napa or New York City. I'd second that...San Francisco and New York City!
San Francisco especially the Haight-Ashbury area...The Red Victorian, and where else will you find the biggest Chinatown in the world? China.
New York City, especially CBGB's, the Bowery, Chelsea Hotel.

| Nicest or favorite vacation place in the US Posted: 11/1/2009 3:08:31 PM | I have been to 40 states now, for a small town feel, I'd choose Portland, ME, Hyannis, MA, Pottsville, PA, or Ashville, NC. Any of those places must be visited in the fall, when the leaves change....absolutely gorgeous!! Now, for a city, I'd pick Washington D.C., New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, or Portland, OR. All of those have great transportation or easy to get around on foot. | |

| Nicest or favorite vacation place in the US Posted: 11/6/2009 5:01:11 PM | Milford, Texas: Not much to see, but I had one of the best steacks I've tasted in my life. Other than that road trips from Montreal to New York or Washington are always quite entertaining | |

Seward AK. No wait, Hana Maui HI. Oly Penn WA? Acadia ME? Or maybe Moab UT? Nah definitely the BWCA MN. Or perhaps the 4 Corners area...?
Ya got me man. They're all good. I guess it depends on WHY I'm there.
