| Bonfire and Barn Dance Nov. 7th or 21st Posted: 10/8/2009 12:15:37 AM | | Ok, it was suggested that a new thread be started for this. Darin wants to host another bonfire and barn dance, but no hayride this time, unless people really want one. At any rate we are thinking Nov. 7th or 21st, but we have to have people speak up and say they are interested or it is not going to happen, as Sugarbush won't give us the barn if we don't have enough people. So let's hear from you. | |

Ive never attended one of these so called "barn parties" ... um .. do the women folk stay on one side of the barn and the men folk the other side closest to the door for quick get aways just in case one of them frosty women come lookin for a snuggle buddy?

| Bonfire and Barn Dance Nov. 7th or 21st Posted: 10/17/2009 8:07:47 PM | At a barn dance, typically there's a caller who tells you what to do. I ran one last night, for a church in Traverse City, and it was great fun. No one dancing got cold. We did some square dances, the Virginia Reel, several mixer dances, the Chicken Dance, and Hokey Pokey. HTH | |

| Bonfire and Barn Dance Nov. 7th or 21st Posted: 10/17/2009 10:42:27 PM | | Veloise, unfortunately when we said "barn dance", we were talking about a dance in a barn, and not what a real barn dance is. Personally, I would love to have a barn dance or square dance for a POF party. I'm not a square dancer, but went to a hayride that had a caller. None of us knew anything about squaredancing and we all had a ball. We had a hard enough time getting people to come to a bonfire, so I doubt we would be successful with a POF squaredance. Too bad. | |

| Bonfire and Barn Dance Nov. 7th or 21st Posted: 10/22/2009 11:06:27 PM | Nope. I still think if we just went ahead and planned it and sent out the mass email people would sign up. I just think alot of people do not read the forums.
Sorry I missed the haunted hayride. I really wanted to come but work would not let me.
Speaking of barn dances, there is a costume party barn dance this coming saturday out in Northville at Three Cedars Farm. It is a charity event put on by Christians so there won't be any booze but if anyone is interested email me for more info. | |
