Anyone know a solution to this because I am stumped. I have been everywhere and have gotten no where, its been like this since June. I have been using my laptop and I want to game on my PC.

What do you mean when you say that you "get logged out" ? Do you get a blank white screen or do you get taken back to the login screen ?
If you get a blank white screen , then you have got the Active Desktop enabled possibly by a some malware and it was removed by your anti spyware application and it left an empty /blank desktop. It this is the problem , then it is easy to fix.

| PC Problems, I can't seem to fix the problem Posted: 10/8/2009 10:03:02 AM | Have you activated windows? None activation can cause that, and if the Windows activation frame fails to load up, which it is prone to do, you will get no clue of whats wrong...
However if you have activated it then if you have access to another PC with XP on it, take the Windows XP hard drive from your PC, put it into the other PC as a slave [you do NOT want to boot from it] and boot into Windows XP that is resident on that PC, then shut it down and put the disk back in to your PC and see what happens

| PC Problems, I can't seem to fix the problem Posted: 10/8/2009 1:06:01 PM | Did you install anything before this problem started?
Have you tried booting into Safe Mode? May at least get you into the PC, and then you maybe able to figure out what is wrong.
If not here is a article that will tell you how:

If it is that please let me know what it is, where you got it, what you did to install it etc

| PC Problems, I can't seem to fix the problem Posted: 10/8/2009 4:00:12 PM | | That is a symptom of a computer virus. I don't remember which one, but one of the sites I support got nailed by it. You can try downloading a virus clean-up CD from one of the MAJOR vendors and booting it from your CD. Kaspersky's CD recognizes the hardware on my laptop, so I would recommend their CD. It might mount your network card, and download an update first, but these CDs are usually based on Linux, and network card support isn't the greatest for the new stuff. If the anti-virus CD can't fix it, you may need to wipe the machine and re-install it. It would be preferable to have someone try to copy your crucial data before blasting the drive. Good Luck. | |

| PC Problems, I can't seem to fix the problem Posted: 10/8/2009 10:02:43 PM | Agreed... could be a virus / malware issue. A couple of really good FREE scan/removal tools are:
* Super Anti-Spyware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/SUPERAntiSpyware_d5116.html) * Anti Mal-ware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html)
You might also check out the Major Geeks virus help forum. They have designed some VERY GOOD step-by-step instructions, recommended scanner/removal tools, along with LOTS of good feedback from some very skilled people.

You will need to set up an account/username so you can post results & files and the techs can respond to you.

First. It could be an idea to
Start in safe mode. Disable system restore.
Then
Download like has been said Malware Bytes
Do a Full type Scan. Then repair if needed.
See if this is OK.
Then check if you are allowed to start your machine
If needed also have the Genuine Operaring System CD. Plus Licence Key
Then. Run. CD. Do a Repair select.
See how you go.
Post a responce.
Any Ideas.
Please make sensible support.

| PC Problems, I can't seem to fix the problem Posted: 10/10/2009 7:24:29 PM | As I have posted in another thread:
"Those annoying tool bars sandwich themselves between Internet Explorer, and intercept your web requests. If you have one, or more, of those consider removing them.
Clear your browser cache. From the Tools menu > Internet Options. On the General tab click Delete Files, and put a check in the box that says Delete Offline Content, and click OK.
Lastly, your version of IE may have a glitch with the PoF pages. If the above 2 options have failed, then consider a different web browser like Mozilla Firefox."
Also consider clearing your browser cookies. It may fix the mail problem.

| PC Problems, I can't seem to fix the problem Posted: 10/14/2009 12:55:31 PM | I love Yahoo, but their toolbar started mincing up my IE sessions. I was getting all kinds of errors. No shutdowns though.
My main PC in the other room though would shut down mysteriously and that computer was loaded with cr@p. After going into safe mode and installing Panda anti virus, I ran Panda anti virus a few times on it, and also just a few maintenance tools that are good like disk cleanup and defrag to ensure better performance, and now it runs like a treat.

| PC Problems, I can't seem to fix the problem Posted: 10/17/2009 11:13:09 AM | It appears you are able to log in but you are immediately logged out. The immediate thing I can think of right now is that a service is failing on you or settings on your computer have been modified so that a script starts when you log in and that script essentially logs you off. On Windows you have something called group policies. Under group policies, one can set up startup/shutdown scripts and logoff/logon scripts. If you have a friend around you that knows how to visit the Safe Mode and make changes to such logoff/logon scripts, seek his/her help.
Essentially, what you will have to do is press F8 soon after your initial BIOS screen disappears. The BIOS screen generally says "Press F2 for Setup, F12 for boot menu" etc. As soon as this disappears, start tapping F8 and you will end up with a black screen with white text on it. There will be several options. One will be Safe Mode. Use your keyboard's arrow keys to highlight this option and press Enter. You will be taken to Safe Mode where hopefully you wont be logged off. Before going to Safe Mode, print out or write down the troubleshooting steps you wish to perform - such as a printout from http://techsupt.winbatch.com/ts/T000001048F90.html or a screenshot from http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Office_Productivity/Office_Suites/MS_Office/Excel/Q_23089253.html page (scroll way at the bottom to see the gpedit screenshot).
As far as reinstallation goes, if your disk is not readable you may have a bad CD drive or a bad CD. If you can borrow a CD temporarily from someone, try to see if that CD loads fine. If it does, you know that your CD is bad. In that case, you may have to ask for a replacement CD from the manufacturer or contact a local computer shop to see if they have a Windows CD you could use with an appropriate license they can sell you. If a borrowed CD does not work, chances are your CD drive is not functioning correctly. If that's so, you can borrow a CD drive from someone or buy a CD drive for real cheap online, replace it and try your original CD again.
Good luck. | |

| PC Problems, I can't seem to fix the problem Posted: 10/19/2009 2:44:43 PM | I'm a bit late..sorry but it sounds like userinit.exe got deleted from system32 folder. I hope you already got it fixed.. but just in case.
Get the Hiren boot disk and start live windows xp.. check to see if userinit.exe is there. If not then copy the userinit.exe from your cd or another xp installation to c:\windows\system32
good luck.. | |
