Why a sudden stop to replies?Page 1 of 1
I started talking to what seemed like a pretty cool girl here on POF and got to know a bit about her and stuff. Things were going well, and we even planned to meet up and hangout. The plans didn't quite go into much detail, since communicating on here can be a bit slow, and all of a sudden, there has just not been any contact. Its kind of confusing to me, since she took the time to reply to about 7 or so emails and then to just stop completely. I'm just wondering what could make some of you out there react like this?

I didn't say anything blatently rude or annoying, so its just been pretty confusing lately.

Could be the following:

1) She lost interest
2) She found someone she liked better
3) She died
4) She was kidnapped and sold into sex slavery.

Maybe you didn't say anything all that interesting either.
I don't know WHY this woman lost interest in you, but apparently she did.

I think she was never that interested to begin with. Maybe just being friendly and felt that you wanted more so she bailed.

^^Sums it up pretty well.

If she stopped replying something might have come up in her life where she doesn't have time or want to log on to answer her msgs? Orrrr maybe she just doesn't like you like 'that' .

As for something that could make me react like this is just a general disinterest.

Women are renowned for changing their minds right (not applying gender 'roles', just sayin).. as you were headed to the next stage of meeting, she might have gone over your past email conversations in her mind, then decided she wasn't happy to go forward after all. As can happen after a date it's normal for people to later analyse the events, it's not unheard of for a person to detour from a position they seemed sure about, or receptive to, previously.

She replied to SEVEN (or so) emails??
I would send out a search and rescue party. Obviously something terrible has happened to this poor woman...certainly she would have replied otherwise with such a long history of communication.
Please keep us posted on her welfare as you become aware of it.
Good luck.

Seven emails is a lot. I think you should have asked for her phone number a bit sooner and set up a date, after awhile things tend to drift in cyberspace. Better luck next time!

Did you email her asking if she's lost interest or did you just ask all of us to read her mind for you first?

Ask her if she's still interested. Ask her if she still wants to get together. Ask her what she's thinking.

Odds are you just didn't do it for her, though. I don't stop communicating with those I'm interested in ... I keep it up until we meet, THEN I stop communicating with them ;)

Communication on here is slow at times so why didn't you ask for her number and call her? She probably thought you weren't interested!

I think Deborah's right - maybe your lady friend got tired of having an email 'friendship' with you. Why didn't you ask for her number so you could at least bring it to the next level and start talking with her on a more personal level? It's more than likely someone else she'd been messaging asked for her number and perhaps got her interest.

Guys that asked for my number after a few messages back and forth took things to the next level fairly quickly - those are the ones I actually met in person (if I was interested enough to give them my number, that is). The guys that just kept a lame email exchange going back and forth eventually just lost my interest to those I was meeting face to face.

It's always sudden. Unless there's some way you can get half an email, or one-quarter of an email or something like that.

Or did she write 10 pages in every email, and the last one was only two words? That would be strange.

Seven sounds like the beginning of a conversation to me, like you answered a few questions, and she's still running it through the Bat-computer for analysis. Even now she could be kicking some Joker in the face based on info you provided!

File it under "luke warm".

actually in the last post I sent her before she stopped contact , I did ask for her number so I could plan a date for the weekend. Could it be that I was too late by just one email? It seems a bit harsh, but I don't know how much it can change someones opinion.

I kind of think Wack has something.
You were still being analyzed. Starter stage.

I got 4 e mails from one guy basically 1 or 2 liners of nothing. Next thing he says is "Well, I think starbucks or a light lunch would be my thought"

I am thinking WTH? I was just being nice to a couple of comments and he assumed I was all ready to wash my hair and meet him that day. Didn't ever ask if I might like to meet.

Not happening.

Sounded to desperate and in a rush to me. No name exchange or anything.

man, I'm confused now lol. Others hinted at moving too slow, now a possible too fast. I did legitimately chat with her and we told each other about ourselves for a while, so I don't feel like I rushed anything, but obviously theres no telling how she felt about it.

OP, you were both too fast and too slow, too funny and not funny enough, too personal yet aloof, and maybe even c0ckily tentative.

I'll tell you what your real problem is. YOU'RE NINETEEN!!!!!!!
You have relatively little experience and perspective. Practically everything that happens to you is happening for the *first* time, versus the fiftieth time. You haven't accumulated the wisdom of personal history with which to console yourself.
Why don't you let go of this one and start reaching for the next one.
I'd also recommend reading other forum posts besides your own. When I looked at your five-month posting history, you've started three threads, all of them on topics that have been asked and answered before which means you're not doing a thread search before you post.
Additionally, you've not made one single comment on anyone else's threads which may mean you haven't read anyone else's threads.
There's quite a bit of wisdom in these forums. Read. Learn. Stop worrying about the silly details. Forge ahead in spite of your youthful confusion.

When I get off the floor laughing my head off going to type

I agree with all of the above.

When I stop writing messages or replying OP means I am bored with the chat its not going anywhere, or when men start writing total rubbish and its unanswerable.

We just needed lovemesomemen and LeftofNormal to reply here. They covered all the bases and then some.

Maybe because you never really had set plans on she got tired of waiting. Some other guy probably picked her up lol
