A wildly entertaining workmate, who masquerades by day as a medical clerk, is in fact an inventive chef pursuing training at France's world-famous Cordon Bleu. He offers cooking demos for extra cash and to reduce his daily tedium.

Anyone interested in attending a lesson while socializing over a shared meal? Demos would be tailored to group interest based on sign up comments. So lessons could be basic prep techniques versus more advanced taste and wine pairings and then posted in AB's singles event forums.

Lemme know preferences for and interest in:

1) time of day (weekend afternoons or evening or a weekday evening)
2) what is ceiling costs you would consider paying for this service & social event (divided equally between all participants including lesson fee)
3) type of class (basic prep techniques, shopping tips/cost cutting tips, bulk cooking)

Have at 'er.

Oh yeah, should anyone on this site be interested, did I fail to mention already ..... he's a cute, SINGLE, educated 26 year old who dresses impeccably and has a great relationship with his family, doesn't smoke/drugs????? !

I would be interested in classes in the evening.Cost to be about $30-but would pay a bit more .I generally like "cooking for entertaining" as opposed to basic cooking.

Does he have a sister interested in baby powder & body paint !

I'd go to this if time permitted. The more food I can make, the better.

Great Idea! My schedule is all over the place so I can't really give a preferred time or date. But if you plan it they will come!

So, any word on a date? I would be up for any kind of cooking. I usually am a meat guy, but I would try some non meat dishes. Always ready to try something new.

If this guy is mildly amusing and studying at the Cordon Bleu - I might be interested. It might help me expand my rather rudimentary culinary skills which is little more than opening up a can of soup, adding the appropriate amount of water and boiling it. Maybe I might even find out why the soup always seems to boil dry too. LOL

I am not so interested in the guy, but he might be good for a chuckle or two (probably at my expense).

How about mid November? Let Hallowe'en settle down and pick a weekend so we can actually relax and not have to worry about getting to work on time the next morning. If there's any shift workers out there....say your peace now!

The menu could incorporate both veggie and meat dishes but the cost would have to be considered. Would it be easier to have separate veggie and meat feature demos? Although the point is to pick up some pointers, but don't want anyone to go home hungry.

I'm concentrating on a NW Church Hall near 4th/Centre NW if that's a consideration for anyone. It has a fully equipped kitchen with lots of prep and cooking space, immense seating area, dishes/cutlery, sound system ability and best of all .... a DISHWASHER!

Chef is outrageously straightforward, constantly shooting straight from the hip but is easily blushing when the over 40 single females start the lunchtime banter.

That all sounds good to me and as long as I know a week before I can not be available to work! PS AT a cooking class I took a long tme ago an appropriate reasonably priced wine or spirit was recommended and I found that helpful!

Liqour licenses are really not a problem. I used to work at a wine store and they are not that expensive. Just let me know the weekend too. I am really interested in this.

I could try to fenagle a night you were available. I'm still aiming for mid-November but haven't heard back.

Also looking into a dance class night...since I have two left feet (as attested by dddiesel) thought lessons and practice were needed. These seem reasonably priced and just the right environment.

Mid November sounds good. Does he have a limit on the number of people in each class? must say that it is impressive to see 2 brave guys and a "deviant freak"aka Anti Elvis showing interest!
