| favorite beatles song Posted: 10/13/2009 1:25:50 PM | | Seeing as how the beatles have just come out with remastered editions of their albums, plus the rock band game, I"m just curious as to what everyones favorite beatles song is of all time. For me, it will always be Paperback Writer because it was their first #1 to not deal with the theme of romantic relationships. Oh yeah, Maxwell Silver Hammer is also a good song because, well, my dad was the one who introduced me to that song and its named after me. Go figure eh? | |

| favorite beatles song Posted: 10/14/2009 3:43:14 AM | | "Eleanor Rigby". That song has a lot of meaning for me since I am one of those lonely people desiring a soul mate. Plus,I love the way it is sung and the music is just perfection. To me,that song is not just a song, but a masterpiece of lyrics put to music and voice. | |

| favorite beatles song Posted: 10/14/2009 9:36:25 PM | I would have to say that my all-time favourite Beatles song is "Your Mother Should Know"(Magical Mystery Tour). My other favourites would be "Hey Bulldog"(Yellow Submarine), and "Baby You're A Rich Man"(Magical Mystery Tour). It would probably be EASIER for me to list my LEAST favourite Beatles song, and that is without ANY doubt "Michelle"! With all due respect to the previous poster, I absolutely DETEST that song! If you're diabetic, DON'T LISTEN TO IT! A bit off-topic.... I've been listening to Magical Mystery Tour a LOT during the past week, and it occurred to me just how MANY of their best songs came from that album! | |

I've never thought of Beatles music as there being "a" favourite song. Only albums.

Like Jeff Healey a lot, but can't agree. I haven't heard a cover of any Beatles song that I really liked better than their original....but 10 cc's live version of "Across the Universe" comes really close.

| favorite beatles song Posted: 10/20/2009 12:10:31 PM | Black Bird and I've Just Seen a Face.
The problem with Beatles songs is that we just know them too well - we all grew up with them in the background. The Mona Lisa has lost the power to move viewers because we all know the painting to well. Same thing with Beatles songs.
That's why the only ones that I really like are the ones I found later in life.

| favorite beatles song Posted: 10/20/2009 6:17:21 PM | | Have you heard George Harrison's demo version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps? You want to talk about chilling? George sang it with the same power, soul and conviction he used on "All Things Must Pass." I've always felt that while I love The Beatle's version of that song, the band's playing on "WMGGW" and "Something" was a little intrusive. Those were gentle, delicate songs and McCartney's bass playing in particular is a tad too "busy" in my opinion. Same as "Dear Prudence." It should have been more of a dreamy piece like "Julia." Too much rhythm, it's distracts from the mood of the song. | |
