Anyone from Kitchener have any advice on which area is best to check out?
I'm hoping to make it out there this year. :)

| Oktoberfest 2009 in Kitchener.... Posted: 10/16/2009 3:24:21 PM | | I was born and raised in Kitchener and am German. IF you want to go to one of the Fest Halls, you need to plan WELL in advance. The best place is the Concordia Club and you MUST order your tickets in April. You can certainly find over priced tickets after April or, you can go to the scummier celebrations that will let anyone in...lol. If you want to really experience a true Oktoberfest, you should hit one of the German Clubs and that takes planning. Tomorrow it's all over for the year anyways. | |

| Oktoberfest 2009 in Kitchener.... Posted: 10/22/2009 7:40:56 PM | The festhall atmoshere is becomming less and less German year by year. When I was twenty and you went to any of the real german halls it was polka polka polka and you had a blast! The feeling just isn't there anymore and many halls rarely even play a polka once an hour and nobody knows any of the old traditional chants anymore. It's become very commercialized and the true ethnic events are diverse and not in the halls.
If I was going to pay 30 bucks for a ticket, and buy expensive pitchers of beer, I'd rather go see a band at Lee's palace in Toronto. ziggy zaggy ziggy saggy hoy hoy hoy | |
