Posted: 10/18/2009 2:27:30 AM | Hey everyone, I want to say i am so sorry this party sucked...it was too cold, the band didn't play anything to dance to and then the whole cover charge thing....they had told me when I talked to them about the party that it would free till 7 and when i found out they started charging at 6, I was furious and talked to the girl i had set it up with and she said the manager had changed his mind that morning and anyone who had to pay between 6 and 7 let me know and I will give you the money back...speaking of money...to the girl who was going around telling everyone I was making a cut from the door, you are soooooo wrong. None of the host are suppose to make a dime from any of the events and they ALWAYS end up costing us money....I have spent up to a $100 on one party before...and you didn't even pay your cover tonight, my friend did so not sure what you even had to complain about and you are always welcome to host your own party, heck i will even come and you bet ya i will be a lot nicer to you than you were to me....but anyway, sorry again everyone. Not sure if I am doing the Halloween one now but i will let you know in the next day or so.

You are willing to give your time, money and genorisity to help and benfit everyone, and someone will still find a reason to complain. It's all part of being a good person. I followed this thread and wanted to attend, but wasn't able to because of other plans, but I could tell you put a considerable amount of effort and time into making this happen, and was appreciated by almost all, if not quite all. Just remember the most greatest thing you should get from this is the feeling of accomplishment and knowing just how great of a person you are, because without you, and only you, this event never would of happened. Just telling you what I thought needed to be said, and I bet almost everyone would agree. You really are special and in a good way. Keep smilin!  | |

I could not come, work got in the way  Unfortunately we are experiencing an abnormally cold October, now if you can learn how to control the weather you would be the ULTIMATE party host! (Not to mention incredibly wealthy as the rewards for your talent!) Bars do not give a cut of the door, anyone with a brain knows the cover is to pay the band. Anyone who goes to a bar to see a band is used to paying a cover anyway. It is nice when they give special consideration to special events, but it does not always happen. It is risky to plan an outdoor party this time of year, but I bet no one had a problem with their drinks getting too warm last night. Before you cancel Halloween, perhaps Clancy's or one of the other places that has hosted a POF event in the past could accomodate the party even on such short notice. Halloween is a tricky time to plan a party, some years it is nearly 70 and others it threatens to snow. Your friends know you work hard to offer an opportunity for POF members to meet and enjoy each others company. If they choose not to have a good time, NOT YOUR FAULT. Keep up the good work, it is appreciated! | |

Posted: 10/18/2009 7:39:21 AM | Wow! What a great party!!! The band was GREAT! Granted, it was difficult music to dance to, but they were great. Yeah, it was cold, but hey! Move around little, say hi to a few new friends and wiggle to the music. I found a great spot right under one of the heaters. I was flattered when several guys came over to greet us, and then realized that we had heat over by us!!! Dah! Well, they were all nice anyway.
Chris -- you did a wondeful job, as usual. These parties are a lot of work -- been there, done that -- but, it is so much fun to greet old friends and meet new that its worth it. You and your posse are very much appreciated!
I always walk in the door KNOWING I'm going to have a great time and I haven't been disappointed yet. I think I danced to one of the longest songs in history last night ! Wahoo. It changed tempo four times but we hung in there. What a hoot.
See ya next weekend at Adaggios! And to those who complained about last night, try to bring your attitude of gratitude with you! I promise -- you'll have a good time. | |

I'm sorry there was (were) party-poopers, but like others have said, it was up to them to have a good time or not....I came by myself, met cool people, and decided to just have FUN!!! Thanks for all your work in making these events happen. Not to mention you are a great and fun dancer....Ike and Jonsey's was awesome....my legs are still recovering....LOL!!!

I don't know what band they saw that they said they were great but I thought they sucked especially the first hour buy himself. They had to know the people were there to dance and you can hardly dance to any Bob Dylan song nor would I pay to see Bob Dylan anyways. I think if they would have played dance music people would have filled the dance floor and the cold would not have bothered them at all. I still think you did an awesome job but unfortunately you can't control the weather. If Fosters branch would have been there it would have been awesome and I think you know that. I think you do a great job and you are the best hostess on here. Keep up the good work!!! | |

Posted: 10/20/2009 4:01:33 AM | Hey guys, I am trying to decide what to do about this party....Two months ago I when I talked to the venue about having the Halloween party there, the idea of a Haunted Biergarten with an outside concert under the crisp Oct night seemed like a great idea but the reality of it hit me last Saturday when we were out in the freezing cold. I was also not happy with the cover charge situation (they started charging an hour a head of schedule after confirming just two days before the party that they weren't going to start it till 7). They will be charging cover for this party now too starting at probably 5. I know $3.00 is not a big deal to see a band especially Zanna Doo but it is kind of the principal and sticking with what you say you are going to do. The management at Rathskeller have promised if it is bad out they have the Ballroom empty this time and the event and the band will be moved inside but part of me says I am a little scared to chance it.....But this is YOUR party so I would love to get some feed back. I spoke to the group that is doing the party at Addigios (I am not sure if I am spelling that right) this Saturday and if we decide to cancel the one at Rathskeller on Halloween night, we can combine the two parties and do this Halloween party there on Saturday too, we can do costumes and prizes and fun just like we had planned but be inside so we can all wear our cute costumes without the big winter coats covering them. I honestly am fine with either way, keep the party at Rathskeller or combine it with the one this Saturday (the 24th)....I will let majority rule, we just need to make a decision by tonight so I can post it and let everyone know so please either post something on the Halloween post or email me personally and I will make the big Executive decision tonight and post it based on what everyone says. I really do want this to be a great party so please let me know what you think.
