| Drug Paraphernalia?

I have some tenants living in a house, and while I was cleaning out the garage I found some suspicious things, that seem almost like they could be used for drugs, but I'm not sure so maybe someone on here could aid in my hunch.
Behind the deep freeze I found a regular water glass, a spoon, and a beer can that was cut in half and had a dark muddy substance on it (thick like oil - but possibly mud?)
The garage is where all the tenants go to smoke, since there is no smoking in the house, and they hang out there with a couple beers as well. I wouldn't say they are horribly sketchy but I am obviously concerned for a reason. Just seems like that could be a part of their life style. Crack maybe? Any ideas? Is this enough to find to ask them about it? | |

The oil...could be from a grill. Some have a wire rack on the bottom you can put like a soup can in to catch the grease so it doesn't drip all over.
Somebody could have MacGyvered a beer can for that purpose. | |

Posted: 10/19/2009 4:08:59 PM | I wouldn't touch it or take it anywhere, I'd call the police to come look at it and talk to a lawyer about your rights first. A hidden camera would be a good idea to see just who it is but again, you'd need to know the laws in your state first, and really, how many of us know how to set up a hidden camera  well anyway, I don't. I'd call an attorney first and get it all laid out there then maybe with the attorney, contact the police. I would not be getting my hands all over the evidence and I would not confront the tenant alone. And not out of fear but because I'd not want to end up on the wrong end of all this and be arrested myself. | |

That's just what I was thinking. You don't want to take it to the police station and say "Lookie what I found!" and have it be drug paraphenelia. You could be arrested on the spot. You certainly want to avoid getting your fingerprints on it so nothing can be blamed on u.
I say ignore this one incident and if u are cleaning out the garage again and see something, call the police, but in the meantime before u clean out the garage again contact a lawyer and see what your rights are and if u could possibly be charged even if you only just found it but didn't touch it.
I personally have never done a drug in my life so I really can't say where it sounds like drug paraphenelia.. | |

I on the other hand have done all sorts of drugs and I can't think what in the world that combo would be for.
how about before you go the police you just knock on the door and ask them if they know what that stuff is? of course, if they don't know what it is and aren't involved with it, they may think you are a little crazy.
if you go to the cops and make a false accusation you could not only get yourself sued but get a lot of other people in trouble.
if I were you I'd forget the whole thing. if you find some drugs, then worry about it. | |

The OP has three random objects.
Sure heroin addicts use a spoon and some water to cook up with. Or a tennant might just be drinking a glass of water and eating a pudding cup. As for the half beer can with the funny brown substance, maybe someone chews tobbacco, or its some sort of oil from anywhere.
If these people are paying their rent on time, and the place looks in proper order, I wouldn't start chasing clues to a crime that might not have been commited. | |

I once found a BAG full of needles in a children's park, maybe ten feet from the swings...when I called the police they told me to put it in the trash.

I'll take the bet if I can keep the coke can in tact.
You know what one might do...if they use the garage for smoking cigarettes.
They might cut a coke can in half and use it for an ash tray. Maybe bring a glass of water out and put some in the bottom of the can...to put them out in so they can safely throw the butts in the trash.
I wonder what a little bit of water...in the bottom of a coke can...mixed with lots of cigarette ash's resembles. Maybe sludge?
The spoon....I think escaped from the dishwasher and was just hiding. Keep the spoon in protective custody and throw the can. | |

1) Cut the top off the can.
2) Place aluminum foil over the part you cut off. slightly recessed in the middle.
3) Poke holes in the middle with a saftey pin.
4) Put a hole in the middle of the can with a pocket knife for a smoke hole.
5) Place tube from outside to inside bottom
6) Fill with liquid of choice (brandy works good) till tube is covered with around one inch of liquid of choice.
7) Place ganja over aluminum foil with pin holes in it.
8) Place lighter over ganja.
9) Light ganja
10) Inhale slowly and hold breath not to let the smoke out. Till your lungs expand and you start to spit out pieces of your broken lungs. (Jethro Tull) Aqualung

Why would you cut the can...just to cover it up with tin foil.
Leave the can intact
poke hole towards the top
Place tube through hole at angle to the bottom
Place small piece of screen in tube
Use pop top opening to draw in
Your way would be like cutting an 8 foot 2x4 in half...overlapping 2 feet and nailing it back together to make it 6 feet long.
I would just cut 2 feet off. | |
