Hey Trekker, I can understand that! You shouldn't have to give up everything you've worked for 20 years for, to someone that has only know you a few. There should be a reasonable agreement on those matters should a divorce happen....of course, if the two involved could be reasonable with each other, a divorce probably wouldn't happen. Jeez, no wonder no one wants to get married anymore...

...about this trick

Dividing up assets and debts and then after the divorce is final she quits her job and files for chapter 11 bankruptcy! She keeps the assets she recieved and ALL of the debt she was to pay off falls back onto you!

Never HEARD of that and thought I'd heard it all, Mr. kcbrent. I don't get it, since once divorce is final, how could the debts then fall on spouse? Besides isn't bankruptcy the whole point of erasing her debt? Why would it 'fall' on anyone at that point?

Not a trick only women use. This happened to me also. And you do pay the debt or go bankrupt also!

And thanks for the wonderful memories!
