| New Google Map feature, invasion of privacy? Posted: 10/21/2009 11:07:36 AM | A few days ago Google initiated the new map feature where one can close in on any street or address and a new window opens showing the location as 3D photo image. One can easily navigate up and down the street or entire neighborhood.
Absolutely amazing achievement in every aspect.
While car license plates and peoples faces are not clearly identifiable, zooming in close the images show views into windows in some cases and everything parked or stored in the driveways, carports or storefront windows. This makes Google map an easy and near perfect tool for thieves targeting specific homes and items.
This feature is undeniably great and helpful in many ways, but many people, especially the older generation less computer literate are not aware their property is shown in such detail.
I do have serious concerns with respect to the public's rights to privacy and the safety of their property.

| New Google Map feature, invasion of privacy? Posted: 10/21/2009 11:23:00 AM | Yeah i started one not long ago. Yesterday though I got some location info from a docs secretary and i typed the address wrong in google landing me in kits somewhere. but i knew the general area i SHOULD have been in so i "walked" around the streets there, noting the building signage and numbers and found where I needed to go. That made me happy. | |

The "Thought Police" have informed me that they will be making their rounds to recondition all of the mal-contents such as yourself. Don't concern yourself though the process is entirety painless.
