Hefty and ex are right. A lot of it is the body of the message. No one wants to get that random "hey wanna ****" email. Well, lol... Im sure some wont mind, but its not my gig, and most of the women wont reply to that either. But then its like Excalibur said, maybe a bit of tactful persistence will pay off. I think it takes a lot of courage for people to write someone of their choice or likes. To not get a response of some kind is sad. I mean of course we all have our preferences (based on likes and dislikes) but at the very least acknowledge the email in some respect.
I personally, write to everyone who has ever written me. If they can take the time to write to me then I will most certainly take the time to respond. Unless the person is being a jerk right off the bat and being vulgar....and yet even then, sometimes I will write them express my displeasure of their choice of words. Even if it is a one or two liner to thank them for their kind words or gesture, at least it makes the person feel content, that you have not ignored them. There is nothing worse than feeling like you're invisible.
If I wrote an email to someone and didn't get a response, I would probably wait a week and right another one. Cuz sometimes people do get caught up in their emails and perhaps they have not yet had time to respond to a few they wish they had. If nothing again that would be it.....MOVIN ON!

I'm pretty selective. Which probably accounts for my response ratio. I only e-mail people who seem sincere, and have been active. | |

I feel better about it now since I changed a bunch of stuff in it, except for that looking for men part, its either men or women, cant put "anyone" in there so thats not as true as it could be.
Now if I get any more I will answer them but since I changed my profile no one has emailed me at all, dosnt bother me, I like the forums and talking here.  | |

If someone emails me saying "hi i think your hot lets chat" or " i love you" or something lame and cheesy or scary like the L word i dont even waste my time.
Or even if someone emails me saying "hi id like to get to know you, how old are you, where are you from. what do you do" HELLO ITS ALL IN THE PROFILE OBVIOUSLY YOU DIDNT READ IT JUST LOOKED AT THE PIC YOU ASS....
people who actually say something funny or intelligent, or show that they actually are interested i respond to.

Actually if i want a to find someone fast, i like going to the grocery store and asking ladies about such an such product and how to cook it.....and bla bla bla.
You meet the nicest chixx in stores because you catch them offguard and they have left their bad attitudes at home with their boyfriends.

I wish there was some sort of block/ delete feature cause sometimes I forget who I've already written to and if they weren't interested the first time its unlikely they'll be interested anytime after that.
The thing I don't understand is when gals always say BS like don't message me unless your funny. witty, etc. I mean, Im funny at times but like anyone, sometimes Im on and sometimes Im not. Either way, I only write to people that I have a genuine interest in or I have a question or two to ask them about their profile. | |
