Anybody know anything about this? Never saw it before. Not sure what I means. | |

Why don't you just copy the URL of the web page where you are seeing this, into a reply here, so we can determine what you're actually looking at.
Additionally, have you clicked on that profile? does it keep you in POF or take you to some other site, which would then make what you see, a sponsor's ad.

Posted: 10/22/2009 6:58:19 AM | I get the same thing. Several profiles at the top when I send mail. They appear below the usual 8 when you send an email. They appear related to WHERE you send an email . I just sent one to a gal in Alaska and all those it suggested I contact were from Alaska...
I will say all were cute ! So it might be based on Profile views etc...

Posted: 10/22/2009 1:04:58 PM | ^ Yes. It only shows up after you send a message. "We strongly recommend you look at the following users." Just starting seeing it a couple of days ago. As for my recommendations, I see no pattern. They are not similar in race, location, height, age, or profession.
I don't think copying the address is going to do anything. It's profile specific. And it's not spam. The thumbnails take you to genuine POF profiles.
No big deal. Wasn't sure if POF was using a new technique to match up people. | |

I'll go you all one better... I sent a message to a POF pal in Indianna... then saw this message and had to check out what the heck it was... it strongly suggested I check out trapped... thought I was in trouble. Now I'm just confused. Glad to see I'm not the only one... | |

As with all other options here it's just another way to give you more profiles to consider. Could be wrong, hope Markus a.k.a the mighty 1.5 will give us more answers with new updates. So if they said "Sorta Recommended", then you would not care, but because they used Highly, it really matters to you?
Only the owner knows what criteria and or algorithm that gives the results.
You are not suppose to see rhyme or reason, you are suppose to look at see if possibly there is someone in there you may be interested in, if not you move on.
Could be wrong, hope Markus a.k.a the mighty 1.5 will give us more answers with new updates. Just this woman's opinion, take it for what it's worth.
New features do not need explaining, just take them for what they are worth. | |

When I contact someone in Alaska from Texas and they suggest 5 cute gals in Alaska they STRONGLY suggest I contact ... (and they are almost always cute which is why I think it has to be partially based on # profile views which is smart) who am I to argue? I click on the profiles just for fun even though they are in ALASKA. And guess what this site is fueled by page views and he just got me to happily click on 5 more pages. It worked!
This is one of the few new additions I think is really promising for increasing site revenue and generating positive page clicks Without offending anyone. I love this one! I message gals all over the world and he suggests other cute gals in that area and I check them out... Life is good!
