| Date Night!

Was talking with Navbabe on another thread and we thought it would be a good idea to start a Date thread  Now I know that there is already a date night thing you can opt for but that is only on Fridays...I know a lot of people work shift work, myself included and this way date night could be any day or night 
My idea was that anyone interested on going somewhere to meet someone just post "Yay" on this thread and then people could see what's what so to speak...
Navbabe might have a more fun way to go on with this and others are welcome to comeup with other ideas too. So let the dates rain  | |

there is only one catch doh and thats not everyone uses the forums

Please could you explain how your concept would work on a forum, thanks.
I'm having visions of someone playing the role of cilla and putting up questions put to her or him which people interested in finding a date would like answered by anybody prepared to go out on a date, then if those answers are answered by one lucky person to the satisfaction of the person asking them, 'Cilla' will then inform that person that a certain someone likes them ...then, they mail the person and arrange a date?
Do they have to come back online and tell how the date went afterwards?
What happens to the people who fail to get a date from this proposed blind date thread, do they get a booby prize ...like, will they have to go out on a date with someone they're not impressed with who isn't impressed much with them either just so they get to go out on a date and don't feel left out?
What will we do to the person who stands a person up - will we crucify them on the forums for being rude?
One thing's for sure, I'm not dating anybody who is loathsome. | |

Whoever plays Cilla is the host of the game.
One person male or female has 3 questions ready and asks them one at a time.
Three female or male (depending on who the asker is) answer the questions as they are asked.
Cilla then does a reminder of what each of the contestants has said, and its up to the picker then to chose who has won.
There is no pressure to go out on a date, it's just a flirty and fun way to get to know each other.
Anyone can join in, it's just a matter of getting people online at the same time.
Thats roughly how it's done, Nav might be able to explain it differently if this isn't clear.  | |

Posted: 10/29/2009 7:13:58 PM | Maybe the best thing you could do is arrange a meet where you get people to attend, the attraction being a Blind date type show thing.
Or you could just plod away by yourself and use this site for it's intended use and mail random strangers with questions you think the answers to will reveal if you'd like to take it further with them or not.
I wonder what kind of questions would be the best sort to ask? | |
