I'm looking for people to check out my profile and give me suggestions on how I could make it better or more appealing! Should I write more about myself in my about me section? I just don't think I'm getting very many responses out of my profile..help!

A lot of people say that great pics and provocative profiles make it work for young people. As you've so many other ways to meet people its necessary to have something out of the regular to get attention. Just as you're meeting people in schools, college and out on the town the guys are too. That's not the same for us oldies - we can get away with slightly less.

So,.. maybe try getting someone to take 100 pics with you. Find some great ones. Rotate them in until you find some that work. Pics are it.

As for the text, well it doesn't tell a lot about you. Are you working on something, do you read particular types of books, or have movies you enjoy? Where have you traveled? Specific interests really do help. No one drove someone away by having something they're keen on and good at.

I like seeing something in the 1st date section that makes sense for a 4th date. 1st date is often just saying hello, or so I hear.

goodluck. oh yeah... and you might just say you're from Sudbury.

I can't speak for your age group, but those of us who are older want to see some substance to the profile. When I look through profiles those that just have a few sentences are automatically rejected. Do talk about yourself some more.....add in things that you find attractive in a potential partner, etc. The Interest section is well filled in and the pictures you have are perfect. The dating section could be better. For example, would you want to sit in a dark theater for your first date or go somewhere so you can sit and talk and get to know the guy?

Your profile is pretty bad.

As a guy, how am I supposed to send you a decent email if you have nothing of substance on your profile?

At the top of this forum there is a link in green font for tips on writing a better profile.

And lose the self portrait shots.

I agree with some of the other posters about there just not being any "meat and potatoes" on your profile. You stand out really well in your images but you leave nothing for a jumping off point or an ice breaker in your "About Me" for someone to ask about. What do you plan to study? What are your hobbies {don't just say I love music... hanging out)? Show off your uniqueness...who are you? Tell them!

This might just be because of my age (much older than you) but pouting/kissey face photos are a big... NEXT for me. I would assume the would be for any serious guy (despite his age). Of course that could be a wrong assumption :)

hi there i had a look at your profile and these are my thoughts
your pictures are great they show you doing lots of differnt things which is good its giving some intrest, the one with the glasses i'm not sure about its still nice though.
your actual profile is a bit bland theres not very much information there.
even if you feel a bit shy i would still add a little more just so people have more information to start a conversation with.
hope this helps, happy fishing!

Great suggestions so far...a nice body shot would help. Doesn't have to be provocative but it's different than all the rest. And as mentioned, your About Me is bland. Beef it up. Talk about you and what kind of person you are, why you're on POF, what you're looking for, some of your quirks, etc. All those things give people something to start a conversation with. Saying "ask me and I'll tell" gives the impression that you were too lazy to do your profile.

Okay so thanks for all the help guys! I tried changing my about me section and the date part so I was wondering if anyone had more feedback for me now that I've added stuff. And as for pictures, some people said they didnt like the self portrait (mostly the one with the glasses) so since it's halloween I was thinking on changing that one for a new halloween picture once I get them on the computer. The halloween picture would show my fun and outgoing side. What do you guys think?

Your profile is difficult to read. Separate your topics into individual paragraphs, and then expand on each of them. Would you take someone serious if they had a profile like yours?

Yes...and that is exactly one of your other problems. You need to have more to say. Correct English usage would have one topic per paragraph. Separate the topics out, and then expand on them.

There's a large difference between "too long" and what you have.

Mine is 1/3 the size of my old one; which was long, but not "too" long - it's all about how you do it.

Give mine a read - it flows well and gives people plenty to talk about while not telling them everything about me.
