| Whats with all the one word answers?
Posted: 10/30/2009 1:09:17 AM | As the initiator of most correspondence, i usually write medium to acceptably long messages. These messages are also somewhat witty (i like to think) and i put a lot of effort into them to show that i actually have interest.
But all i seem to get are one word answers. Messages with almost no thought put into them at all. I find myself asking a slew of questions just so i have a couple more words to read in the reply.
Do all girls / women do this? or apparently just the ones i've been chatting with.
I can accept that if it is so. I mean, i'm generally just a talkative person, and i like to share things about myself so that persons from the female gender can figure out if i'm interesting and "date-able".
The thing is, I also love to LISTEN. i wouldnt mind learning more about YOU so that I can make an informed decision as well.
lastly, i will finish by saying, that i understand not everybody is a word smith, or a great typist, and that may be where the issue lies.
But i need some OTHER girls from the ones i've been talking to, to help me get some perspective!

Posted: 10/30/2009 6:42:13 AM | Any short / uninformative response is about the same as “read/deleted”. You could do a follow up but if you get the same kind of response just accept that she is not interested and move on.
If she is interested in you she will write a real note indicating interest in the conversation. | |

Are you reading her profile and asking her questions based on what you read? What does your initial message consist of?
If you're asking about her, are you asking open ended questions, or questions that can be answered in one or two words? | |

Offer your IM address (with voice feature) and leave it at that... ham it up a bit..even if you're exaggerating..you've just about bitten the dust anyway. as for why the One Word Replies: She is Not Interested.
it's the KISS off...and she is keeping it simple to turn you off... to shut you out.
I've not checked out your profile...but perhaps she is too superficial or illiterate to spot an interesting, intelligent wordsmith.... perhaps it's all about looks... so no loss there if she is superficial.

hey...you're not bad looking....sheeeeeesh.. 'She' must be illiterate then...don't use big words when you contact women is my advise.

Ummmm well I tend to agree with the ladies on this one. If they give you a one word answer then they are probably not interested.
My advice? Make shorter messages! There is no point in writing a short novel just to get a one word answer. OR you could ask questions that require more than one word to answer like maybe...Why do women give one word answers? or ummmm How do you feel about the current economy? Something that makes them think. Women are supposed to be smarter than men, so maybe they can answer your question if it makes them think  | |
