| Has anyone here ever been Hypnotized?
Posted: 11/1/2009 2:24:10 AM | Last night me and the other half went out to a Halloween party, we was told that there was gonna be lots of different entertainment there as well as a Disco to finish off...
Halfway through the night, they introduced a guy that picked out 7 people to sit on a chair in the middle of the room.. (me being one of them) (KEV RECORDED IT SO I KNOW IT REALLY HAPPENED)
I was REALLY sceptical about all this, but thought I'll play along, the told us to look up to the ceiling and stretch our eyes to a spot and focus on the spot and not look away. we then started listening to the music that he played, and started feelin all warm and tingley.. after about 5 mins my eyes got proper heavy and i wanted to shut them but couldn't....
to cut the story short, i WAS under, and doing silly things that he told me to do... He told me that i was madonna and everytime i heard her song i was to be her... and someone else was Elvis Pressley etc... Everytime i heard Get into the Groove, i got up and pranced around like madonna infront of everyone i dint know.
after about 10 mins, we was sat there and he told us to think Musical instruments, then some proper loud music came on, and all i could think about was jumpin up infront of lots of people, playing my Trombone...in the middle of the dance floor...
the other people was playing other instruments...
when he said sleep i came over with that warm heavy eyed feelin and just had to sleep...
My question here is........ Has anyone expeirienced being Hypnotized for REAL even though you was very Sceptical???? | |

Hence why some who get hypnotised to stop smoking do not stop smoking - they don't really want to stop deep inside.
So, that leaves the question of why you were happy to jump around the stage thinking you were Madonna. I'll leave that for you and your partner to figure out!

How wrong can you be....i stopped smoking after 3 sessions so therefore your comment is incorrect.I did want to stop hence paying to see the hypnotist otherwise i'd have spent the money on cigs

Posted: 11/1/2009 9:40:07 AM | I think you have to look at why people fail to quit smoking to understand how the hypnotherapy works so well with smoking cessation.
Me personally I love to get hypnotised, it's so similar to meditation, the feeling of peace and contentment is great. I love that the mind is so open to beneficial ideas that I can change how I feel and react about things. I love self hypnosis too, to be able to relax yourself so totally in such a short space of time. Stage hypnosis is very different from hypnotherapy though. I wouldn't be interested in stage hypnosis. | |

I was not hypnotized but went to see McKenna live in London and.. same thing as you described above happened there
Londonwoman I too went to a Paul McKenna show some years ago with all the people I worked with and to our huge amusement a chap we'd worked with who'd not been popular (had eyes like Buzz Lightyear too) got up on stage. He proceded to make a complete arse of himself, becoming a donkey, a rock singer and sweeping the stage. Hilarious!!!  I'm convinced he was genuinely hypnotised cos he was such a pillock he'd never have allowed himself to look so stupid in front of people like that. | |

spot on. i went to a hypnotist to give up smoking and it didnt do a thing, i had a ciggie on the way home. i thought i should give up smoking but i didnt actually want to.
15 years later i wanted to give up smoking and now i havent had a cigarette for 3 months.... | |

Once when I was younger a quite famous hypnotist was in our school and he made everyone do things except me, he told me to leave the queue and then similar things happened with others, one said my mind is not steady.. I'd love to be able to be hypnotised one day.. my friends were teasing me that I was a witch hehe | |

Well done mate.
I'm getting hypnotherapy myself for the same reason.
1st session was incredible, cut down my smoking by 75% but then my life got turned upside down, so... hit the nicotine. 2nd session, well... working against strong negative motivation so not so good, I am however booked in for a 3rd session. | |
