I've read the rules entirely and yet I'm still finding it hard to understand why some threads get deleted.

Seriously, can someone explain what rule my post about hair clippers violated. That post was really important for me. Can you resurrect the post as I need the information in there.

I know in the UK forums moderators often say it's not them that delete all these posts it's the users but a lot of time I never see threads being voted out, they just disappear without any voting.

Read the rules again, I find them pretty clear in their verbiage.

Do keep in mind that some threads are derailed beyond what the moderators feel is an appropriate amount of cleaning if it has degraded into more chat or flaming than is worth saving, it will be subsequently deleted.

No, there is no way to retreive deleted threads or posts on this site.

You might wish to contact a moderator privately and send them the text of the thread that you started to inquire as to whether or not it can be posted again with their approval... but to repost without pre-approval is grounds for automatic deletion as well.

I've reread the rules, I suppose some might see it as a list thread as I was asking for advice on what brand of clippers, but before I went out the thread was starting to turning into more of a discussion.

Makes me wonder why the simple threads are so easily deleted yet the 7 page racism and islam threads are left to turn to chaos.
