Posted: 11/1/2009 12:14:52 PM | WOW !!!! WHAT A GREAT POF EVENT . WE HAD 31 PEOPLE SIGN UP ONLINE AND 68 PEOPLE SIGN IN AT THE DOOR AND A HEAD COUNT OF 81 .
IT WAS THE GREATEST GROUP OF FRIENDLY PEOPLE I EVER DID MEET .
THE ATMOSPHERE WAS SET AND WE ALL TOOK A LITTLE TRIP BACK IN TIME TO THE 50's .
WE WERE ACTING YOUNG WITH THE ADVANTAGE AND LIFE SKILLS OF BEING OLDER .
FOR A FEW HOURS WE WERE YOUNG AGAIN IN MIND AND SPIRIT , DANCING / SINGING /TALKING /JOKING AROUND /BEING SILLY / AND JUST PLAIN HAVING FUN .
APPARENTLY CUPID WAS AT WORK ALSO AND IT WAS REPORTED THAT A FEW STOLEN KISSES EVEN TOOK PLACE .
THE WARM EMBRACE OF SOME OF THOSE SLOW DANCES FED TO THE ALREADY HIGH AMOUNT OF ELECTRICITY IN THE AIR .
IT WAS TRUELY AN AWESOME NIGHT .
A SPECIAL THANKS TO MY OTHER HOST KELLY ( kellysh64 ) AND CO-HOST BOB ( beeKeeper) AND SUPER GREETHER BOB ( boblee56) WHO ALL WENT FAR BEYOND THE NORMAL EFFORT TO MAKE IT ONE FANTASTIC PARTY .
THEN ON TOP OF THAT WE HAD ALL THE SPECIAL ANGELS THAT JUST JUMPED IN THERE AND HELPED US . THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND UNFAULTERING DEDICATION AND SPIRIT THAT MADE THIS A GREAT POF EVENT .

And speaking of next time you are not going to get out of co-hosting it so easily .

" failure to communicate with printer " when i put the picture card in .
What , are they married or something ? LOL

Describe your issue and maybe I can help. You have a smart card from your camera. I assume some sort of reader for it. Or do you plug it into a reader that is on your printer? What's the setup on how you are wanting to get the pictures off your camera? I'll see what I can do to help! | |

I managed to get the pictures from my camera card to a folder finally but cannot get them to upload now . The correct page is there and i browse to get the photo or photos and hit upload .
It takes about 5 minutes after i hit upload to get any display to come up and then the page that comes up says ( internet explorer cannot display the web page ) and i check and am still connected to the internet , so that is not it .
I have tried uploading one at a time and two at a time with the same results .
After reading every post i could find back to 2007 i may need to re-size the photographs to a maximum of 1.75 mb but i do not know how to do that and have not received any replies to help . The pictures on my smart card are 3.6 mb .
Any advice you have will be greatly appreciated .
I did try to contact you through your profile but the mail settings prevented that so hopeully you will read this .

I finally did , i got someone else to do most of them . LOL
The name tags went over well and we made it optional so if they wanted to wear one they could .
Seems like about everyone did wear one and it made it easier for me anyway to recognize someone that i had not met yet but had viewed thier profile .
Sometimes those profile pictures are not very clear . LOL
I would like to try 2 name tags next time , one with thier real name and one with thier P.O.F. user name .
Also i think the womens name tag should have a place for thier phone number . LOL
Good thought but it would be my luck to get a wrong number anyway . LOL
We also did karaoke and dj which i feel like draws more people with different interests .
I see in your pictures you had a dart board and was wondering was that for anything special ?
I also got warned about posting pictures of people that are banned from paricipating in the forums .
Like that should have anything to do with a picture .
How are we supposed to know that ?
I'm thinking maybe a yes/no question on the sign in sheet ?

Basically, its the other members that show up that know..and they mention it in conversation...and at some point the gossip would get back to ya..LOL
So I wouldn't sweat that. Pictures are fun and people enjoy checking them out.
Dart board...I sometime group 2 guys/2 girls and then all 4 can play a game of 301.
Its a dart game a group can play. So is Cricket---but that requires skill.
301 just counts backwards from 301.....first person to make zero--wins.
Easy--takes a long time....drinks served and plenty of time consumption for people to talk amongst themselves and mingle.
I try to setup multiple tables altogether too. So everyone sits in a round/or rectangle..lol.. and together. That board with sticky letters is a winner of an idea. People locate the sticky letters of their name in a jumbled pile of letters and post them on the board.
One of teh POF members brings laptop. Now THERE'S a winner of an idea!! Everyone huddles around after a few drinks and critiques POF profiles together! It can get funny. LOL | |

Sounds like some great ideas on the other stuff and looks like you have have fun by the pictures .
I was thinking about a couple roulette wheels with he guys names on one and the women on the other one and they spin for a dance .
Or one wheel and let either the guys or gals spin .
Or maybe use your dart board idea somehow . | |
