Posted: 11/1/2009 5:19:25 PM | So I've been on here for about a month, and at first I was getting e-mails like crazy. But for the last couple of weeks, I have gotten absolutely NOTHING! Is this happening to anyone else, or is it just me? (I had one guy I was talking to that lives in my same city, and we started talking over IM and he claimed he was interested in me and I was really interested in him, so I gave him my number and he said he'd call me but never did, go figure!) Do I need to do something different with my profile? I thought I would give the online thing a try, since meeting people face-to-face doesn't seem to work too well for me, but now I'm not so sure about online dating, either.
Anyone have any advice?  | |

1. lonely girl usually equals desperate girl...not the image or tone you want to set with your profile..
2. main pic isn't flattering...the lighting isn't good and it ages you about 8 yrs.. no pic is better than a bad pic...i suggest a new head shot with good lighting. as well, add a body shot and an activity shot. (doing one of your interests)
3. your intersts should be 1 or 2 words to match with others. watching tv should be tv...move all interests to the interest section. that's what it's there for.
4. about me should be about your personal characteristics that make you a great catch. don't repeat things that are elsewhere in your profile. things like age, status, kids are all in your bio. no need to repeat.
5. you need a flow to your profile. your about me section is scrambled and all over. now because you are looking long term, you can make this section longer than usual but it needs to flow. talk about you first, then bout what you are looking for. be clear and precise. you seem to have a lot of requirements so make sure you use positive word choices. focus on what you want, not what you don't want.
6. remove that last part about serious enquiries...you can block everyone not looking for long term and datting if you want. the last paragraph makes you sound jilted, bitter and needy...you're 27....come on now...
