| From internet to wedding. Posted: 11/1/2009 6:04:02 PM | I always felt i should come back and give a nod to this site. That day came today when a friend of mine visited my home and asked me how i met my fiancee. After some discussion, i then proceeded to log in to POF and get a blast from the past to see my account which had grown years of dust. With some hesitation on my friends part, i insisted on creating him an account. Which after doing so , leaves me here.
Simply put, i feel blessed by using this tool. And POF is just that, a tool. It is said that the poor craftsman blames his tools. And those who feel this site is the problem ( in my opinion ) lack the ability to take accountability for their personal relationships. I don't really wish to go into some long explanation why i believe this to be true, but suffice to say , this is what i believe.
With that said, i do owe a heartfelt "thank you" to the creator and members of this site. Without you, ( all of you ) i am not sure my life would be what it is today. I am completely sure that if everything had not happened the way it had. I would not be getting married next to a volcano on a tropical island, and i would definitely not be enthusiastic to do so. But, like Love, so many seemingly insane decisions become something far more sane. And that is really the charm of Love isn't it . Love took everything i thought was sane and useful and said " Without love, this is pointless". This is my first and final post. I will not return to read any of the comments that may or may not generate in this thread. So please excuse my absence. I leave this note here for the rest of you. Waiting on the platform for your train to arrive. Have your boarding pass ready, because once it leaves the station it will not be coming back. When its time to jump, Don't listen to anyone. Don't follow Any advice. Dont wonder or wait or hope. When you leap, go with all your heart. You life might depend on it. I wish all of youl a happy and love filled life.
Solitude is like having all the gold in the world and nobody to spend it with.
Thank you Plenty of Fish, Someday i will die, And my creator will ask me only one question " Did you Love?"
Sincerely, The man who grew a heart.
PS. To my sweetheart, you make my whole world crumble. We come from different worlds, different lives. Different skin colors, different homes, different hopes, different dreams, different aspirations. Different thoughts, different words, different ways of expressing ourselves, different opinions, different friends, different ideas.
When i am old and gray and frail, and i look you in the eyes. What you will see sparkling in my eyes will be the same sparkle you always saw. You will see a desperate gaze. The gaze of life hanging in the balance. The gaze of giving you the power to destroy me and trusting you not to. The gaze of complete abandon. The gaze of lifelong courage, The gaze of trusting another as much as i trust myself. The gaze of true Love. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I will never be perfect, but my heart is., thanks to you.

| From internet to wedding. Posted: 11/3/2009 10:01:34 AM | its never been the site that was the problem
the concept is sound
what makes it fail is the bad attitudes and unrealistic expectations of many of the users
of course if these people didn't have bad attitudes and unrealistic expectations then there would be no need for dating sites

Yep. Cheers mate....we read ya. Err...are we there yet? I just hope this train doesn't get jinxed and be derailed on its way to the platform. I know I'm looking like an idjit here holding up my pass since yesterday.
