So far I have read the profiles of every woman within 100 miles on this site, and tried my luck with every single one that has posted similar interests to mine(they are a minority), and zero luck. If I can't get women who are also into the same geeky stuff as me to take so much as a passing interest, I figure I might as well not even bother with those that are into clubs, dancing, and crap. Any guys had any luck with POF? Whether to become a forum lurker or just delete my account is now the dilemna, hmm.

With that type of an attitude, delete sounds like the best option.

"That type of attitude?" I must be missing something. If I have no luck with people that have a lot in common with me, then logic would dictate I will have even less with people that have nothing in common. What it all boils down to, is 99% of women on this site aren't actually willing to meet, or even carry a conversation with, anyone that they met online.

Dude,

I'm no fruitcake... but I do like to think I understand psychology and women in general.

Your picture on your profile at best makes you look like a bad Phil Collins video from 1985, or at worst makes you look like a serial killer. I know it's the "only one you've got" and "smiling is overrated"... but come the F on, Bud!!

Chicks don't want to snuggle up to a sour puss. Get more pictures... of you smiling and in sunshine. The brooding "movie director" look is not a real girl grabber! They want to feel like you're fun and funny not withdrawn and murderous.

I agree. I really don't know why women have profiles on here since none of them are willing to meet. I've tried to contact alot of women on here whether they live close to me or not. A few women have responded and my emails never make it past 4. When I finally suggest to meet some place, I get the old "Read Deleted" which means they read my last email and just deleted it without responding for whatever reason. I'm not convinced that there are any women who would actually like to meet whether you live within 100 miles or not.

lol, from a forum lurker to a potential forum lurker, how bad do you want a lady friend man. You know by now dating is a numbers game, and it varies from dude to dude. what i mean by that is some fellows get lucky after a hundreds of tries and some dudes get lucky after a thousands, if you truly want a woman you have to continue what you are doing, also do limit yourself to just the net despite it's convienence, but do what you will.

It's too soon to give up on POF for mating purposes. As you know, before there was POF men and women simply never met. There was no way for them to meet until POF arrived. It's still so new, this idea of men and women meeting, that you have to be patient as the women figure it all out. They are easily distracted and tend to go clicking off aimlessly to other sites whenever they see an ad with a link. Then who knows where they go or for how long before they find their way back.

Holy Cow...

Do you really think the problem is with every single last woman within a hundred miles of you, or,maybe, just maybe, could the problem be you?

Why don't you try the profile review forum and brush up on the "writing a good email" directions, very clear directions, that the site has.

Good Luck,
Jen

Dude, I'm having the same problem.

All the 18 - 21 yr old tighties aren't responding to my messages. This "read - delete" business is wearing me down.

I have been on here for 2 years and experience the same thing. Many men do the "read deleted" bit to me as well. I wish I knew if they just find me physically unattractive or that I don't look like a player to them. I would really like to talk for a while then meet if there is an interest between us, but I don't even get an opportunity to talk to these guys. I suppose there are just too many men that are still hung up on looks alone and don't care about intelligence, sense of humor, good women. I'm a little bummed out myself.....

This just screams "Pity Post"

The guys who have had luck with POF are not likely to be here to respond to your post.

I think you need to seriously change your profile picture and profile description content.
A smiling photo does wonders for responses.

As a female who has been stood up about six times from guys on this site and met a few guys I suspect were married, I am not taking it seriously now and am here for the forums.

My friends from here who now have significant others got them in real life not from an internet site.

Don't count on an internet site for a gf.
Women are scared and leery of men from here after several bad experiences with online
meetings or stand-ups.

Isn't it "Oh Lord" not "hold on"? Come on now... you're better than that.

And the drum part is clearly "Da Doo- Da Doo- Da Doo Dadoo doom dooomp." also.

yes it is;

I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord
I've been waiting for this moment, all my life, Oh Lord
Can you feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord, Oh Lord.

and I dont know I have met several women from online dating sites, a couple from here and all were positive experiences. The lady I am seeing now I met from an online site(not this one). I think if you treat it as an opportunity to meet people you wouldnt normally meet and dont expect too much you may be surprised.

dude, seriously scarey pic... i do see the whole 80's phil collins referrence only with a tad bit of serial killer thrown in... especially when looking past the pic and seeing target practice as a hobby.... head on over to profile reviews and see if you can get suggestions to lighten it up a bit.

The women within 100 miles of you are looking for a spray-tanned pretty boy with 6-pack abs.

If you suspect that they are married, then why don't you just ask them then you will know for sure. That's what I do and it seems to work for me. There is no question about it and then I act accordingly.

So you are looking for a good looking woman who:

is a world of war craft gamer

a Snake Lover

is into European Style Melodic Death Metal

Loves Johnny Cash

and Drinks frequently.

You're right, that would be a hard order to fill. Maybe you need to cut back your expectations to one single item like ..... she has a pulse!

I really don't know why women have profiles on here since none of them are willing to meet.

I met four in the first two weeks of being on this site. In person. Plus several more by phone that weren't "it" as far as making a drive and investing the in-person time.

Get a profile review. Tweak what you say in messages. Change your mindset.

OP: You need a profile review and an attitude adjustment. The number one reason people buy from you is CONFIDENCE. And like it or not, your profile, pictures and messages require you to make a sale. The product you are selling is yourself. If you aren't confident enough to sell yourself, then hang up your spurs on this site because you're already done. Better yet, get the profile review, make the changes and get your mindset tuned up.

I'd try a different website if this one isn't working out for you.

Skip all of the posts above mine. If it hasn't worked for you, then it won't work now.

Good luck!
