would you be happy for the local mayor to do this? does this change your opinion of boris?

Posted: 11/3/2009 5:10:16 PM | If only there were more characters like Boris. Politics is not my strong point, but I do tend to gravitate towards the minority of characters involved regardless of the party. I am a free-floater, so I have no loyalty and/or bias to any of the parties!

Yep, he is human after all... I would be more concerned by a major who turned a blind-eye.

Not really, I have always quite liked him and such an act reinforces my belief!

No!
I have always had a very high opinion of Boris and voted for him to be Mayor of London.
This incident just goes to show what a legend and a great man he is.
He may have his faults but he didn't have to think twice to help stop this lady being attacked.
And it turns out she is of a completely different political opionion to her knight in shinning armour! | |

Posted: 11/4/2009 12:42:06 AM | I used to work near to where Boris lived and saw him reguarly in the corner shop and around the area and this is no surprise what so ever.
He was a complete gent - always holding the door open, helping people get things off shelves, so friendly and helpful. Once I saw an elderly lady drop her shopping and he jumped off his bike to help her. This was 7 or 8 years ago so way before he was campaigning for Mayor.
What ever you might think of his politics as a person he is a genuinely decent bloke. | |

im glad he helped the young lass, and good to see him going around on his push bike too! Couldnt imagine red ken doing the same thing. In a way im looking forward to the olympics as bound to be fun with boris bumbling around acting very pc ... Not!
does anyone think he will be tory leader oneday or p.m? | |

As another poster said, we need more like him in politics.... a true eccentric who seems to be liked by most people.

An example to all of us that we should not turn the other cheek, and allow children to intimidate us.
We hear a lot about "broken Britain" and how the spread of gang culture has seeped into every town city and village in this country, Boris to my knowledge is the only Conservative to back up the words of David(Im worth 35 million) Cameron, who beleives the way to "fix" Britain is community responsibility.
At last a politician that acts like he is part of the community. | |

I like people.
I certainly don't like any political party that begs for power in an age when all are almost the same (parties squabble over menial bullshit so that they can grab an inch and take power).
I like individuals.
I like Boris :)
He makes me laugh. When he needs to, he puts his serious hat on and calls it how he sees it. I respect that.
More power to his elbow, I say. | |
