| new orleans?... Posted: 11/3/2009 8:15:19 PM | i was in new orleans for a few days over ten years ago and had a great time in that beautiful, fun city... i'm thinking of going there again in about three weeks time and would like to know if anyone has suggestions re., what i should see...and recommendations for clean, reasonably priced hotels to stay at near the french quarter. on my last trip there i went for a paddle steamer ride and dinner on the mississippi, lots of walking around the waterfront, visited lots of bars and restaurants and managed a bit of shopping. i'll go on the mississippi again but haven't got anything else planned as yet...
i'm also thinking about spending a couple of days at denver and would appreciate the same advice concerning hotels and sights...

Embassy suites is a great place-they offer you a daily breakfast & used to have a managers 2 hour happy hour. You must go to Cafe Dumond for the beignets and cafe au lait. Taking a ghost/cemetary tour was pretty cool too. Harrah's casino is right there also. Good luck with your trip.

| new orleans?... Posted: 11/19/2009 11:46:58 AM | | I always stay at the Rue St. Louis. Great old style hotel with affordable rates. The best places to go are not in the French Quarter, but are in the neighborhoods if you want TRUE cajun food. As for as party areas the French Quarter is great especially O'Briens........ | |

| new orleans?... Posted: 11/22/2009 4:00:38 PM | I recommend the Monteleone. You will not be sorry. It is in the French Quarter and just one street over from Bourbon. We got our rooms for about $99/night during the week. The hotel is on Royal street. Go to their website on-line and check out their rates and packages....also you can download coupons from the New Orleans website for discounts at many establishments. Laissez les bon temps en roulez! | |
